I used to smoke and I didn't think it was harming me at all.. Now that I've quit, I realized just how much I was throwing away.. sure it felt great to forget everything for a while a just relax, but I was doing it to escape from my problems, and they eventually caught up with me anyway.. I was allowing myself to do thing I wouldn't normally do and I hate who I was then...

I didn't realize just how bad it was for me until I stopped. A lot of people think it's ok but in reality it just harms people and those that care about them. If I didn't think it would be abused for medical purposes then I might approve of that use.. however, I have no doubt people will abuse it... and if we do legalize weed, what's next? Cocaine? Heroine? The list goes on and eventually we'll just give into everything and really run society into the ground.

People should get to decide for themselves. They use now anyway, might as well make it as safe as possible for them and their surroundings. We could reduce crime and bring in a lot of extra revenue for better schools and social programs.

I don't believe it will reduce crime.. I believe it could make it worse. What will all the rich drug dealers do when they were out jobs? I'm not promoting their choice of lifestyle but imagine someone taking thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars away from you... you'd go pretty crazy... I don't think legalizing it will make it any better.

What I find interesting is that for someone who has such an obvious distrust of the government you are willing to let them take control of something that I take from your posts that you partake in.Isn't that a little hypocritical?
Of course that is just my opinion.

Well it isn't working keeping it illegal. Might as well try legalizing and see the results. We could always go back.
