Very little experimentation. I'm quite satisfied with marijuana and I've been smoking it about 10 years. I have never tried coke, heroin, LSD, shrooms, or crack. I have smoked opium a few times but I didn't enjoy it as much as marijuana. It didn't have much of an effect. I drink vodka a few times a week. That's about it.

Okay.

It's interesting (and good) that pot has not led you to anything harder, or impaired you in other ways (other than being a liberal!).

On the flip side of the coin, a kid that used to be a good friend of one of my sons started smoking pot when he was in about 9th grade. As far as I know, he never went on to anything "bigger and better". But now, at age 20, the kids is a complete burn-out.

Why the difference? What accounts for that? Seriously...

Most people I know are satisfied with pot and don't wander far from it. A few of my friends don't drink and only smoke pot!!! Which is a drag when I'm trying to have a drink at the bar (alone).

I would certainly not recommend such a young person to smoke pot (or drink). The mind and body are still developing and there is much to learn at school. I didn't start smoking pot until late in my senior year of high school (when my diploma was already in the bag).

I think 18 would be a resonsible age for alcohol and marijuana. You are an adult, you can join the military, drive, vote and make decisions about your life.

Then you'd make pot illegal for persons under 18?

Okay seriously... How come some people can smoke pot for years - and possibly LOTS of pot over those years - and suffer no serious side effects, while other people become absolute burn-outs? What (beyond age when they start, and amount smoked) is the difference?

wouldn't it be smarter for it to be 21 like alcohol?

Yes, if pot was legal and regulated I would suggest that there be a minimum age like tabacco and alcohol.

Burn outs?? I'm guessing marijuana is not the only drug involved. Sure a life long smoker will probably be a bit more laid back than the average joe, but their intellect is sharp.

I had a pothead teacher in college... learned more from that man than most.

I think most of the country would be ok with just marijuana being legalized. We can use the money earned off of legalization to educate people to avoid the harder drugs.
