OxyContin maker, execs plead guilty - Yahoo! News

I took this last year for pain in my legs. Once I learned the side effects of it through friends, I stopped taking it, and switched to OTC stuff.

Yeah, from what I understand, this one drug is synthetic morphine, which is highly addictive.
Aside from addiction however, many drugs have adverse side affects, as well as harmful interactions with other drugs, including things a lot of people wouldn't consider, such as aspirin, alcohol, even beer, caffeine and even sunlight.
The best thing to do when getting a new prescription is to check the drug interactivity and side effects, which can be done online.

I switched to Aleve (Noproxen) to take care of the pain in my legs, and the pain went away eventually. My sister, for a period of time, took Xanax. She was always in pain, because of work injuries on her back and legs.

I don't know if she is taking it anymore. She had pain surgery a couple of weeks ago, and that has been some improvement in her comfort. If she is not taking Xanax anymore, good for her.

I also learned that one of the other side effects of Oxycontin was people might get bent over (constipated). I don't need that junk, and the medicine should really be pulled and never prescribed or used.

I believe oxycontin has helped alot of people. it relieves alot of pain, and the only bad part about it is some people may abuse the use of oxycontin and use it to get high.
