| The Election of 2000 When I think of the 2000 election when Gore was elected over Bush, yet Bush stole the election I am reminded of a quote by Stalin: "It's good enough that they knew their was an election....it's not those who cast the votes who decide anything, it's those who count the votes." -Stalin Good thing for Bush Jr. the count went down in Florida where Bush's brother Jeb was govenor. | How many times are you going to repeat the lie???? In every recount conducted by the media following the election, the results remained the same, Bush won, in some instances by as little as 500 votes and in others by as much as 3000 votes. It was Democrats who developed the ballot that the people had to vote with, and they were too damn stupid to make it easy enough for the people to use. Nor can we foget the media calling Florida before the polls closed in the state how many votes did that cost Bush, some estimate as many as 10,000 while other say as little as 5,000. You always seem to forget about that. Come now, Gore couldn't even win his home state, that should tell you all you need to know. dmk Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles -Russell Kirk- | |||||||||||||||||||||

The woman who desgined the ballot was a Dem in name only. She was repub but switched parties because the area was heavily Dem. Theresa LePore - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Then there were the scrubbed voter lists, the machine malfunctions and many other irregularities, all of which are disturbing. I take particular issue with voting machine mfrs, all of whom are heavy Repub donors. How can they make ATMs that spit out paper receipts showing correct balances, but they can't make voting machines that do the same?! The media didn't help matters, either. We'll never know who would have won without all the problems. That's what makes it such a travesty. The will of the people was not done. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| You should read up on the electoral college...It's how elections are won here in the U.S. Seems that the Democrat's cannot get that through their head. | |

| There is little doubt that the 2000 elections were stolen. The grave anomilies that happened in Florida cannot be reduced to merely coincidence. --- help me Instant Runoff Voting, you're my only hope --- "There is no such thing as laziness. | Boy, what happened in Florida was a farce. And it took the USSC to end it all. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105 | |||||||||||||||||||||

| At the time the recounts happened the damage had already been done. --- help me Instant Runoff Voting, you're my only hope --- "There is no such thing as laziness. | I think the biggest problem was with the list of some 5000 registered voters that were not allowed to vote because of being labeled 'felons'. The majority of these people were Democrats. Oh, and BTW, these people were incorrectly labeled as felons. They were at most guilty of misdemeanors, or had their name mixed up with someone else. At the time, Florida was the only state that was using the services of this company, and Katherine Harris was informed of the problems, but didn't care.
