Defending the Truth

This is just a curiosity post. If an election where held today with all of the current candidates on the ballet which Democrat and which Republican would you choose?

Include why would you more than likely choose from each party please.

For instance:

If choice on Rep. side was between Gulliani and Romney I would choose Romney. I have met Mr. Romney and personally like his record and history of leadership. I would not even consider his affilliation with the Mormon church even though I would not personally join a Mormon church and do not care for some of the churches previous policies. Romney is not the church he is just a man who happens to belong to that church. My next choice on the Rep side would be Gulliani. I like his veiws on cleaning up corruption also, on the other hand I have not personally met Mr. Gulliani and been able to ask him the same questions I asked Mr. Romney.

On the Dem side. I would choose Edwards. Again only based on some of his record and history. He did stand up for the poor when he was in legal practice. There are some issues I would have with Edwards based on some of the speeches he has given. Other than that I have no choice that I would even consider from the Dem party at this time.
So how about the rest here. From each party who would you vote for and why?

I'm gonna have to agree with you. I wouldn't vote for Guliani or Hillary or Obama. But you choices seem like OK alternatives. I dislike Romney less than Guliani and Edwards less than Hillary and Obama.
I won't vote for Guliani bacause he strikes me as smarmy and icky.

Hillary loses my vote for the above reason and I don't see putting the Clintons in the White House again.

Obama just seems to me like he's riding the wave and seeing where it takes him.

If Obama had more history maybe one could determine more. Simply he doesn't so.

Guliani seems like he's got a smirk about him that makes me somewhat uneasy. Then again he did go after a lot of the corruption in New York though.

I am more curious about Edwards record in politics. Maybe someone here has more info on his political record.

If I had to vote Republican, I wouldn't vote. And don't get me wrong, I voted for Ronny and I voted for George 1. But I am so completely and utterly disgusted with the whole Republican party they could resurrect Abraham Lincoln and I still wouldn't vote for him.

As for the Democrats, I would also vote for Edwards. I think he has the most experience in politics, and I liked him a lot during the 2004 elections.

Why do you think Edwards has more political experience than the Clintons?


Just curious because Edwards it seems that he has more attorney experience than political experience. The Clintons on the other hand have sought political carreers for ages so it appears to me they have more experience in politics.

It isn't 'the Clintons', it's Hillary Clinton. And that has nothing to do with why I wouldn't vote for her.

Election of the former First Lady back to the White House is just like re-electing Bill. That's unconstitutional, and I'm sure if the founding fathers had considered this at the time, they would have put a prohibition to this situation in writing.

I bet from now on the husband wife team will be more prominent in politics. It's an easy way for an insanely popular First Family to get 16 years out of the presidential office. I believe the 8 year limit was imposed for a reason.

Well, considering they didn't put term limits into the Constitution either, (that was done in the 20th Century), what you are stating is pretty ridiculous.

My bad....Looks like I may be even more wrong than that.
