Except that Ron Paul is an ultra-libertarian who opposes gov't spending except for the most basic necessities (e.g. military, policing, etc.). The FDR New Deal (which has provided our country economic stability since the depression) gone under Paul. Want safe drugs, safe foods, safe air to breath, insurance for your deposits, unemployment insurance, etc. then Paul's not your guy. Moreover, I restricted my analysis to candidates with a reasonable chance of success (of which Paul isn't one).

I fully agree, here. But as far as I know, Ron Paul is one of the few that don't seem to be just 'playing politics'. It seems, especially considering his voting record, he actually means what he says. Thus the mention.

Though, I think Ron Paul has a better chance at the general election then you make it out to be. Though I would agree that he has no chance in winning the Republican nomination.

The nightmare scenario for this country would be if Dennis Kucinich was elected president in 2009. He would have Sean Penn for Vice Pres. Al Gore for Sec Of State, and Rosie O' Donnell as the Attorney General. There would be no need for a Sec Of Defense because Kucinich has admitted in several televised debates that his is a peacemonger and a giant pussy. Thank god the elf man will never have a snowball's chance in hell.

Can't argue with that -- Paul is definitely speaking from the heart. Don't get me wrong, there are many, many libertarian ideas (that Paul has) that I agree with ... but other areas I strongly disagree with. That being said -- as Paul himself notes, a single Presidency (or even two terms) wouldn't be enough to accomplish all of what he envisions (plus it's fun to watch Paul speak).
