Obama irritated by Internet photo (STILL ignorant of flag etiquette!)

You have a bad habit of accusing people of lying when you have zero evidence to back it up.

The fact is that most of the time, when I was younger, if the national anthem was being played, I was one of those playing it so I was a little too busy to salute.

I remember the hand over the heart thing during the Pledge of Allegiance or if the flag was being raised but I don't recall doing it for the playing of the anthem. And it has literally been years since I attended an event where the anthem was played so maybe I have forgotten.

So fucking sue me.

Your interpretation of what he is thinking is just crap. He is standing respectfully.
It is all a bunch of jingoistic bullshit anyway.

I wasn't talking about "you". I was talking about Obama. HE was the one standing there with his hands clasped over his friggin balls. This is the man who wants to be President? Sure it's a small thing, but it's the topic right now. And he frucked it up. I really couldn't care much less about whether "you" know how to stand during the anthem. But a Presidential candidate should know basic flag etiquette. Especially one trying to become President with a name like Hussein.

Hell I don't know "you", all I know is you used to be one of those "I have him on ignore" punks. Bite "me".

Obama has stated that, as a child, he was taught to salute during the pledge and stand respectfully and sing during the anthem.'

To the best of my memory, this is also what I was taught. Obama and I are very close to the same age.

I tried to research the history of the code but most of the references are to this bullshit instead of to actual reliable links. I did read one blog where the writer said the code was modified in 1976. If true that would have been when both Obama and I were teenagers and, I am certain, after we had been taught whatever customs we learned about saluting.

Your absolute fascination with male genitalia which you manage to introduce to almost every thread never fails to amaze me.

And I do believe that I was in error in taking you sorry disingenuous ass off ignore.

Another amazing thing to me is that self centered, it's all about me assholes who have never done one damned thing for their fellow man will condemn a man who has devoted his life to public service based on something as stupid as not saluting when they think he should.

Got to love this smearing campaign....Mike posts a link that specifically talks about the rumor around the picture of Obama durning the National Anthem and then Jaaa posts the picture to smear Obama?

That just goes to show that Jaaa isn't looking at any of the urban legend links...And then as if that isn't bad enough...FX turns around and reposts the pictures while ringing Jaa's bell?

So we not only have one person who's not up on their rumors and not reading the links provided...But two? In otherwords, FX quickly jumps onto Jaaa's bandwagon just cause it fits his personal feelings?

So, since neither one of them were inclined to read the link, I'll repost Mike's post, along with the excerpt about the picture in question...

FactCheck.org: Sliming Obama

Quote:
Pledge of Allegiance? The slime doesn’t stop there. The e-mail also claims Obama "will NOT recite the Pledge of Allegiance nor will he show any reverence for our flag" and that "while others place their hands over their hearts, Obama turns his back to the flag and slouches." These e-mails usually come with this photo, seen here as it appears on Time.com's Web site:

The photograph was taken during a "steak-fry" for Sen. Tom Harkin of Iowa on Sept. 16, 2007. What is pictured is the singing of the national anthem, not a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. For proof, see this video taken by ABC News during the event.

And for proof that Obama has no problem reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, check this video of C-SPAN’s recording of the Senate’s morning business, with Obama presiding, on June 21, 2007. Or this one from Feb. 1, 2007.

A point not raised in this e-mail: Some have complained that Obama should have placed his hand over his heart during the singing of the anthem, as pictured in the Time photo. It is true that the U.S. Code states that "all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart." But the word "should" rather than "shall" makes that a recommendation and not a legal requirement. To confirm, we spoke with Anne Garside, director of communication for the Maryland Historical Societyhome of the original manuscript of "The Star-Spangled Banner," and asked if anyone could be punished for not placing their hands over their hearts during the national anthem. She quickly replied, "Oh, of course not," adding that "there is no obligation to put your hand over your heart." Garside told us she has been asked numerous times about this rumor and finds the controversy to have "gotten a little bit ridiculous."
The site Mike gave, has links in the article, of Obama with his hand over his heart during the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance...

Even Snopes debunked the story, as well as provided other pictures of Obama at other events where the Star Spangled Banner was played, with his hand above his heart...As well as video of him with his hand over his heart during the Pledge of Allegiance...

Next time boys, actually READ the links provided prior to your trying to post smear campaigns after the prior links already addressed those falsehoods?

I would advise you to put me back on ignore then. Because that hwhole post was bullshit as it relates to a Presidential candidate and someone who currently holds an office...for a couple years. Whole life my ass. Was that before or after he was doing drugs?

Before you call someone disingenuous, why don't you get your own facts straight before you make up that "right before he put his hand up" bullshit you tried to pull before.

And as for male genetalia....where were his hands? Looks like covering his nutz to me. But you are gay, maybe you don't know where they are.

Bullshit. More excuses. Coulda saved some typing...

USFlag.org: A website dedicated to the Flag of the United States of America - Flag Etiquette
The pledge of allegiance should be rendered by standing at attention, facing the flag, and saluting.
When the national anthem is played or sung, citizens should stand at attention and salute at the first note and hold the salute through the last note. The salute is directed to the flag, if displayed, otherwise to the music.

Rules changed 30 years ago. I know he's "new" but damn.

And the word in that quote of yours says 'SHOULD', not 'SHALL'...Which as the society for the Star Spangled Banner and both of the articles provided by Mike and myself, says that 'Should' is a recommendation, not a requirement.

It's not 'bull hockey' darling...There is no command that anyone has to put their hand over their hearts during the National Anthem...Even the Society itself, that has the original Star Spangled Banner manuscript says it's voluntery, not manditory. That those harping about that one incident are blowing the situation out of proportion.

You just don't like that it doesn't support your position. Period. And you're looking for a way to smear Obama simply cause you don't like him.

And what's the funniest part of this whole thing is...That is ONE PICTURE of ONE INCIDENT only...And yet the sources that Mike and I used, show other pictures, of other incidents, where Obama DID HAVE HIS HAND OVER HIS HEART DURING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM.

Ya'll rather make a mountain out of one incident, while ignoring the several other incidents when he was doing what you said he should be doing? Talk about purposefully blind and wanting to create smearing...

So FX? What about all those other pictures/videos of Obama with his hand over his heart during the Star Spangled Banner? As well as his hand over his heart during the reciting of the Pledge? He was the type of patriotic you said he should be in those instances, wasn't he? Why are you so determined to ignore those instances in preference to this single instance?

Oh...I really don't need an answer there FX. I already know it.

The simple fact is, you don't like Obama so you're more then willing to jump on the bandwagon of smearing him and spreading falsehoods in hopes to get others to falsely hate him for any reason. LOL!

Why was there that one picture for a man that is running for office. There's a VIDEO, not a picture. I wonder was the crowd standing there like a dumas too while he stared off into space.

I have nothing against Obama. Couldn't care less. I'm not voting for him, but then I didn't vote..period. I just think it's bullshit to stand here and pretend like this didn't happen and then give excuses for it when proven that it did. And for the military there are rules, you must follow. And showing respect for the flag should be a priority for a man who wants to be "Commander in Chief". I'm sure there are many servicemembers going "WTF is up with that?"

I know they say he has little experience, but not knowing to put your hand over your heart during the National Anthem for a serving public officer sucks.

See there you go again. What is it about male genitalia that fascinates you so much. The novelty?
