The Obama Thread
What do you think about Barack Obama?

I don't see his name thrown around here a whole lot, which is the only reason why I ask.

Personally I think he's what this country needs. While Obama doesn't have as much experience in politics as someone like Bill Richardson, I think were due for some new blood. I like his stances on the issues for the most part, and I would be lying if I said his speeches weren't just flat-out amazing and awe-inspiring. Plus he's the only Democrat IMO (Maybe out of all of the Presidential Candidates) who stands a chance against Hillary Clinton. Hell, he beat her in Iowa and that alone is quite impressive.
Obama is a Socialist, racist Muslim who will tax us to death and McCain is a senile warmonger who will start WW3- Failtards.

"Sooner or later, people are going to figure out if all you run is negative attack ads you don't have much of a vision for the future or you're not ready to articulate it."-Sen. John McCain, February 2000.

I miss the old McCain...

I'm no fan of the left. . . but I have to admit that (at least) Obama has a heart (and I daresay a sharp mind as well).

In other words - if we're going to have a democrat as president, then I'd rather it be Obama then the Hildabeast (anyone but her - PLEASE!).

Anyway - good thread, Mike.

If anyone can topple Clinton, it'll be Obama. He's already proven himself to be a formidable opponent. Even after all the smears and the "Obama's a Muslim!"-type conspiracy theories floating around, he still isn't being shaken.

Of course I'm not saying anyone on her side is spreading the lies....

Anyway - good thread, Mike.

Thanks!

Anyone who is capable of uniting this country and bringing us all together has my support. I will go ahead and vote Republican and let the chips fall where they may. . . If Obama happens to win the election, then I will support him - because I think that is the duty of any true American (to support whoever is President, regardless of ideology). . .

This country is disunited right now. The economy sucks. The War in Iraq seems to be going nowhere. People can't afford to buy gas, let alone houses - so naturally people are angry.

I will say that at least we live in a country where people can express their anger and frustration by voting - the most powerful tool an informed citizen has at their disposal.

Here's what I think will happen (not what I want to happen) - Obama will win the election this November and the people will have spoken. The people will have what they want - favorable or unfavorable.

There is a lot at stake - I just hope that Obama is prepared to deal with it in a timely manner without second-guessing any of his decisions. He will be criticized, but I (for one) will not criticize him - as I think it is just un-American to criticize a sitting President!

After all - we are supposed to be the United (not disunited) States of America. . .

Hey night, what do you think of the new Night Rider being a Mustang?

I like Obama as a person. But I'm not a big fan of universal healthcare and he is. So that, along with his lack of general experience, non-support of finishing what we started in Iraq just kinda makes me lose the urge to vote for him.

Thanks, Fx! Have added one of those pictures as my new avatar - lol!

I also like him as a person - and agree with what you just said.
Actually, I'm on Huckabee's team. As a supporter of the "fair tax" - I believe that we can't go wrong with him. . . He is a "fire-breathing" baptist minister of sorts (I'm not sure if that's what this country needs or not), but I agree with him on most issues, anyway. . .

I've been a Huckster for a while myself. Although honestly, I'm not voting for him but against the others. Nobody really screams PRESIDENT among any of the misfits we have to choose from.

I PM'd you on that avatar change. That was quick. I can't believe GM couldn't at least provide a Camaro or something. Sad.

It's called electile dysfunction, my friend - The inability to get excited about any of the candidates from any party!

Just thought that you might enjoy that little play on words. . .
