I love your 1st point BTW. Obama's father, Barack Obama Sr., left the family when Obama Jr was two. Guess he must have brainwashed his son into socialism during diaper changes LMAO.

I can never quite understand why some Americans express such shock, horror and revulsion at the mere mention of socialism and communism.

The reality is that all successful economies have a mixture of both capitalist and socialist economic policies, and that includes the US.

There are plenty of countries with predominantly socialist policies that are doing very nicely thank you.

And 'Communist China' is rapidly becoming an economic behemoth, bankrolling America's economy in the process.

Although I personally am a great believer in capitalism, it is not without its flaws, and I can readily see many situations where socialism is a better solution

The second point of yours dealt with his mother and her supposed communist sympathies. Problem is neither link really connected her to anything remotely communist. No views, no organizations, nothing.

It's been alleged that George Bush Jr.'s grandfather, Prescott Bush, was involved in the Business Plot, a plan to overthrow FDR possibly by a military coup. Now there's a lot that I can say about Bush, but his grandfather's dealings have absolutely no impact on my opinion of him. He isn't responsible for what his grandfather did or may have done. This logic is even more true in the case of Obama and his father, since Barack Obama Sr. left the family when his son was only two. He had played pretty much no part in raising Barack Obama Jr.
