I looked at three items in the article and thought of worse case scenarios, the union card check, the Iraq War funding and big oil windfall profit tax. If the union card check were passed right away it could cause a chain reaction of increased prices across America, let's say liberals don't think fast food is good for you so they attack fast food employees and unionize all employees resulting in higher costs for the product. Then it's off to Wal Mart to smack down the largest employer but Wal Mart smacks back, calls China and cancels all orders giving credit to the Democrats, China holding a lot of debt puts pressure on the US government or calls in the debt. Regardless of how it comes out prices go up and then wages go up, with that Social Security and Medicare and all state and federal pensions go up in costs requiring more borrowing and depression.

Ending the Iraq War on a timeline will cause the Mid East neighbors to replace our presence as the mature adult, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait will support the Sunnis and Iran will come in to support the Shiites. Imbalance could result in a Mid East wide conflict should we not return as the mature adult to moderate fairness. I don't think Obama would have the nerve to return to an even worse situation as the pre surge situation so the area would spiral out of control with a bloodbath worse than following the Vietnam War with casualties in the millions. Gulf oil could be cut off completely when Iran determined the Sunnis were at advantage in order to control Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Not mentioned in the article is the fact the Democratic majority refuses to explore for domestic oil and will close down off shore drilling next congress. The Sierra Club and environmental lobby will insist. With a windfall profit tax on big oil to pay the welfare payments to 40% (95% will get a tax break) of workers that don't pay tax gas prices will skyrocket once again replacing the $1,000.00 welfare payment with $1500.00 in additional gas prices a year. With the Mid East in a region wide war there could be gas lines and rationing until we return to the region to reopen the oil flow. Then Venezeula together with Russia would demand that one on one negoiation with president Obama as the former Soviet Union was reformed and South America reshaped under communism.

As far as Ayers goes, again, I say that the Repubs are kicking a dead dog. Does anyone think of Ayers when they look at their shrinking 401K statements? Did they think of Ayers or Jeremiah Wright when gas was $4.00 (or more) a gallon?
The more time McCain spends on this topic; the less he spends talking about the economy- it's that simple. I think they are picking their poison now; Wright and Ayers, or the lack of talking about the economy.
What do you think most people want to deal with? I don't hear anyone saying either Ayers or Wright's names when they do talk about the economy. Why is that?
The reason I support Obama is because of the superior organization and planning of his staff. McCain is facing an uphill climb steeper than Hillary had in the primaries. He must fight to retain Republican strongholds, and if Virginia is any barometer, it is a tough fight. I think abandoning Michigan (with all the electoral votes there) was a colossal mistake.
If you believe in CNN's Electoral Map; Obama seems to be on the cusp of a landslide victory. What they consider to still be tossup states; many are starting to lean towards Obama. That can't possibly be good news for McCain. Still want to talk about Bill Ayers?
You ignore the reality that the Republicans as a group are not the only reason the economy has failed. Carter started out state run Fanny Mae/Freddy Mac system that led to the crash and as discussed all over the reasonable news sources it wasn't deregulation that led to the fall but a combination of factors that all go back to Carter's invention. The failure happened when this invention gained so much power it was able to buy both political parties. The original bailout ($700 billion) had a $25 billion gift to this same group of community organizers that works hand in hand with the invention known under the name ACORN.

Raise taxes on business they pass them down, tax big oil they stop drilling and pass it down to the pump... you cannot tax an employer without hurting the lowest in the economy. When the states can't meet their budgets they will add on sales taxes and gas taxes bringing down the littlest guy on the consumer line... raise the minimum wage and tens of millions of state and federal pensions and programs must cost more and this only results in the dollar buying less. In 1967 I earned $2.48 an hour and lived well being able to buy a brand new Austin Healey 3000 for less than $3,000... all American cars fully loaded in the same level were under the price of the import.

It will be the liberal congress with no check that will blow this economy apart trying to give welfare to everyone that will support them!

I wonder who they are polling? The "race" issue might be a factor though. White people ARE the majority and many of them admit to harboring negativity about Black people.
Poll: Lingering racism may hurt Obama - Decision '08 - MSNBC.com
It all comes down to who gets the vote out.
Obama owes his nomination to Bush. If he hadn't jacked up the country so completely, there's be no Obama to speak of. But the fact that Bush is serving his second term after so royally f'ing up his first one makes you wonder if even Obama can win.

Some of your points are valid; but you ignore one thing. America has already decided that it does not like spending 10 to 15 billion dollars a month in Iraq. Simple mathematics are what the population can understand; not complex economics. That money being in Iraq could be better spent in America. Ask Arnold Schwarznegger what he could do with 15 billion dollars next month.
Half of your assertion makes perfect sense. We all should be more prudent of our finances and live within our means. But you still fail to realize that even though a 20-year-old making $7.00 an hour would be foolish to try to get a mortgage of $200,000 he is not breaking any laws in applying for one. But, companies such as Countrywide (to name one) were seriously bankrupt in their hope that giving people obviously unable to service debt such as this the mortgage. All this in hoping for more and more profits for the company- and now look what has happened! Lehman Brothers is no different. Toss in what the CEO's of these two companies bled from the companies and their shareholders and you should now be able to figure out what McCain should be talking about! Don't you think America would rather hear about this?
Take what Angelo Mazulo (Countrywide) and Richard Fuld (Lehman Brothers) have done to their companies and the American economy and tell me about what Americans want to hear. Add in the execs at AIG. Now you see why McCain is down in the polls. As long as he wants to kick the afore-mentioned dead dog; he will stay there.

McCain cannot compete with Obama on talking skills period. But Obama is looking pretty stupid beating up on a plumber here lately along with justifying welfare for low wages verses job creation. Basically, Obama's job plan relies solely on building wind mills and solar panels. McCain needs to point out more often that the Democratic leadership in congress agrees 100% of the time with Sierra Club and that that club would rather American's starve to death rather than disturb nature. Remind Americans how lower gas prices feel and how drilling and using domestic energy with carbon based, nuclear and alternative energy would create ten times as many jobs as Obama's plan. He should remind America that Japan tried to get out of a recession by building roads and bridges and it caused the recession to last for ten years.

Dude, you need to switch channels.

Obama hasn't said word one about Joe the plumber. It's the news that found out the real story of the guy that has been coming out.

I guess I need to get out more like you but Obama and his VP nominee have been trashing Joe

McCain: Obama Smeared Joe the Plumber | Politicususa

Obama is a liar, he says he thought Ayers was rehabilitated, just a guy in his hood...

Quote:
I find it very hard — no, make that impossible — to believe that Barack Obama had “no idea” who William Ayers really was, or that he had a past as a notorious domestic terrorist (as Obama’s campaign has claimed) while serving on panels with Ayers and simultaneously praising Ayers’ book in a major newspaper.
This story is likely to continue growing, and I thought that the image above would provide a good “visual” for the Obama-Ayers connection.

Well, as someone who obviously has no grounding in reality, it doesn't surprise me much.
