Country: Points: 10,566, Level: 68 | Level up: 29%, 284 Points needed | | Anyone Else Nervous? Criminals are always in a hurry. A con man wants his or her victim to make a hurried decision. The con man knows: give the victim time to think, and they may ultimately realize it is a bad deal for them. Armed robbers are in a hurry. They know that the more time the victims have to think, the more likely they might come up with a plan for resistance. So we have President Obama, who I voted for, always trying to rush everything through Congress. The Sotomayor nomination - rush it through. The stimulus bill was rushed through, and I don't see any sign that it helped the economy. He wants cap and trade rushed through, as well as the health care bill. Good legislation does not need to be rushed through. It will withstand scrutiny. I would feel a lot better about President Obama's legislation if he would stop trying to rush it through Congress.

Obama can't win
you think he's going too fast
and others say he's not acting fast enough
he's between the classic rock and a hard place
...and there IS a rush to get Sotomeyer through - we should have a full court by September - it's already July

While he is rushing some things through, the SCOTUS nomination isn't one of them. |

I think he is probably just tired of hearing that his popularity is dropping because he "hasn't done anything and he has been in office for X months now!
I agree with Tristan that the Supreme Court seat needs to be filled ASAP. If he has faith in his nominee, why should he not be in a hurry to get her confirmed? |

There's a plan behind this quick shove to get all this new legislation passed. It makes me wish Clinton was President again. |

Other than giving churches money (the faith initiatives) he was pretty much a dud.
His lust for power and cavalier attitude towards life and the rest of the earth's opinion of us dind't come about until 9/11/01
