It's more a commentary on the person who is saying, "He's STOOOOOPUD!"

I understand that, Jefferson. I am willing to believe that our new friend here is voicing a fair amount of frustration with our President. You know, I abhor his policies in many areas, but will say also that to persuade anyone of my thoughts, is not to just say, "He's stupid."
That really adds nothing to the discussion.

Still I do know many folk who are of excellent credentials and yet they too quickly too simply chime in with ad hominem.

I hope Huskylover will engage in many debates here and share his reasons for being disappointed with our President.

And if he is a praying man, I trust he prays for our leaders too.

Wow if that aint the truth! Great statement to internalize...I know I need to learn from MY OWN mistakes. Heck, I have made enough of them, you wouldn't think I would need to steal lessons from the foibles of others!

I don't know how anyone can watch what he has done over the last few years and not see that. I also don't think he's intelligent - not stupid - just not highly intelligent. Goes back to that "not learning from mistakes" thing. You mention that he learned from the previous president's mistakes but what you fail to see is that he hasn't learned from his OWN. It's much easier to see other's mistakes and not make the same ones, than to learn from your own. Of course, if you feel the situation in Iraq in going just swimmingly, then I can see why you disagree with me. Let's just say we agree to disagree.
So what you've done here is take about 7 posts to say you don't like President Bush.

Just his middle name Hussein makes me uneasy about his candidacy....not to mention that the guy is a socialist. Why don't all you libs go look this up on Snopes to find out that parts of it are true. Will you do that, or does the truth actually scare you people that much?

I have looked it up on Snopes and the only thing that scares me is that you would judge a man by his name. That's just too sad.

Oh, and one more thing. Please do not label me a "lib" as you know nothing about me.

RE:Obama - Christian or Muslim?
You liberals judge conservatives by worse things than a name, so seems like you can dish it but you can't take it. And I wouldn't have labeled you a lib if it wouldn't have been so obvious in one of your previous posts. What's the matter? Don't you like being called what you really are? I'm proud to be a conservative and be on the right side of the issues. What's your problem?

Well, if not agreeing with George Bush's policies makes me a liberal, then I guess there are quite a few of us in the country (over 70% at the last count I believe?). I can "take" anything you want to dish out but, no, I don't consider myself a liberal on many issues. As a matter of fact, I feel Bush is too liberal in some of the things he supports such as his "guest worker" program - what the heck is that all about? Either you enter the country legally like others before you or you are in violation of the law. He just wants to change the law to suit his views. There is nothing wrong with the immigration system now other than that it is not enforced. I also feel he is not fiscally conservative enough. I do swing towards the liberal side on stem cell research and abortion rights. I supported John McCain and Wes Clark (either would have been fine with me), not John Kerry and would still be fine with McCain. In general I hate the system we have now wherein I have to declare a party to vote in the primary.

It appears that Obama - in name, at least - appears to be Christian. Or at least he's a member of a United Church of Christ. But then again, so is TristanRobin - so what the heck does that mean, other than that the UCC has sick liars attending...

Anywhoooo... Do you think Obama would be a good candidate, and if so, why? I'm not joking or digging. Just curious how you see him as a candidate.

I don't agree with Bush's immigration policy either. But I sure don't see any Democrats standing up against amnesty either. I can't stand McCain. He's just a Democrat in Republican clothing. And if that's the best the Republican party can give me in 08, I don't think I'll be voting in that election. I'll take a Duncan Hunter or Tom Tancredo over the likes of a John McCain ANY day of the week.
