Yeah wouldnt plexiglass reflect or distort some of the solar rays so the panels wouldnt collect the full load?

I don't know, really. Perhaps it could be used as a solar panel. In my chemistry class where we've been going over plastics, so it seems to me they could come up with something.

Maybe if they were able to melt the plexiglass and mold it into a shape that would collect the rays. Because whenever I look at plexiglass it has a dark almost like a coffee stain tinge to it so I dunno how well it would work

Plexi-glass has many uses. It is what is used in zoo and aquarium exhibits in place of glass. It is also known as shatterproof glass, and used in car windshields, for example, it is curved. I think it could work.
