Absolutely ! They would see how ridiculously innocuous it is.
If anything, pot makes me super conscientious, almost immobile, and VERY content with the basic things of life.
Following that train of thought, it is surprising that governments do not want to make it plentifully available for the same reasons as the Roman "bread and circus".

Marijuana shows the effects of drugs on the mind and that introduces them to the world of drugs and how they "feel good".
You must not have read teethandclaws post, Alcohol is the gateway drug you are talking about. Just tell me how it is not! Everyone trys alcohol first! Not pot. It is way worse for you and legal. Also, putting words in my mouth again are we? I never said DARE should tell people 'marijuana is not that bad for them', I said it should tell the truth about the fact it is not as bad for you as other drugs are. Now how hard is this going to be? They are all like Bush and won't say the words- I was wrong.
Why would you not speak up? This has nothing to do with legalization. It has to do with teaching people the truth. I guess some of the anti marijuana backers would rather let the lies go on simply because they would rather not say they might have been wrong. I think it comes down to fear. Fear that you will be rejected if you speak the truth and it is against everything your peers want you to believe, oh wait, that can't be right because 'countless' of your friends are heroin or cocaine junkies. Maybe it is just the truth that is to be feared.

Isn't that a little like the guy who's having consensual sex with a 15-year old, trying to enact legislation that would make it legal to have consensual sex with a 15-year old?
Really if someone doesn't care either way than why would they push for legalization? Only people that want a law changed try to change the law.
Basically, if we use this out look of yours, this means that the founding fathers, who wanted to have the freedom to make choices as a seperate Nation, and wanted to change the laws and our country, should be compared to a child molester? You always seem to make my day.
Jefferson, I love reading your posts. Everyone has learned to not take you seriously because of all the assinine things you have said. You are kind of like the a$$hole clown at the circus. Your a jerk to people but we always get a good laugh.

I'm glad I amuse you.

You amuse me too - but in an very different way. Actually, I rather pity you, with your entirely self-indulgent, narrow-minded worldview.

As to the Founding Fathers... you're rather wrong in your application. They did NOT envision a nation where any and every idiot was free to do any and every idiotic thing they could imagine doing. Families cannot function that way, companies cannot function that way, organizations cannot function that way, and countries cannot function that way.

But do keep living in your deluded state that leads you to believe that nothing is right and nothing is wrong - except the "nature" that you worship. Meanwhile, I'm going to go out and dump about 5 gallons of anti-freeze down the storm sewer. And you cannot stop me - because if it feels right for me to do that, how can it possibly be wrong - you sanctimonious zealot who is always trying to cram your morals down my throat!

That's another way of saying that YOU demand laws, rules and regulations. It's just that YOU expect all of them to be what YOU want - which means you're totally self-absorbed, rather than looking out for the good of other people. Sorry to point out the painful truth.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

Tell me something I don't know. You are saying you'll be an a$$hole no matter what. I would expect nothing else. Very predicable indeed. Rather than actually research something you would rather just insult. Wow, what a surprise! I guess you got my number.

So Jefferson, have you tried smoking pot, or are you just talking out of your ass?

I just had a scary image of sharing a beer with somebody that looks like your avatar.

(BTW, I don't have that moustache anymore...)

Did anyone read his last post? I felt he made some valid points here. Instead of calling him a "a$$hole" and stupid, how about trying to respond intellectually to what he said here?
