China's Environmental Disaster
I guess the thread title should be ANOTHER Of China's Environmental Disaster(s).

I thought it was only the USA that was destroying the environment!

Have you read the label on the items you own? Where is it made? (I'm talking about shoes, cd players, the colander you use to strain your vegetables.) If they say "made in china", then you should know you are supporting a lot more than environmental destruction.

I've gotten so annoying about buying anything made in China, even things like extra ice cube trays. I can't say it's not that I don't own anything that was made in China, but most of it comes from before I was aware of what I was supporting. I am totally making an honest effort even if it means doing without an item.

One thing I have noticed, the prices on Chinese goods are usually pretty low compared to those made in other countries, (though often the quality suits the price). That would make it easier for the poor to afford things they would not otherwise be able to aquire, and in our material culture...
