Wrong. AGAIN
So... the "expert" environmentalists assured us that the 2006 Hurricane Season was going to be the worst season ever - directly as a result of global warming, and Republicans.

But it turned out to be an extremely quiet season - probably directly due to the efforts of environmentalists, and the policies of the DNC.

Or were the "earth worshippers" just wrong. Again...

THIS is a PERFECT example of why THINKING PEOPLE do NOT take the GLOBAL WARMING ALARMISTS seriously.

Think about it!

Dunno about the environmentalists, experts or not.

But scientists who accept global warming were not predicting a stronger hurricane season due to global warming.

The predictions of a stronger hurricane season were based on whatever hurricane forcasting techniques they usually use.

This is best demonstrated by the fact that one of the foremost hurricane forcasters in the US, William Gray, who was lead in making the over-the-mark 2006 hurricane prediction, is in fact a skeptic of global warming.

WRONG. Again.

The environmentalists were directly attributing it to global warming, which was leading to melting arctic ice, which was leading to warmer ocean climates, which was leading to higher ocean levels, which would - AND THERE'S NO DOUBT ABOUT THIS! - lead to increased numbers of hurricanes, as well as increased intensity.

Only problem is that they were WRONG. Again.

But that is nothing to do with predicting a specific season, such as 2006. That's a long term prediction if anything.

Oh, I see.

So now all the excuse-making and back-peddling arrive.

How convenient.

As I said first of all - scientists who accept global warming were not predicting a stronger hurricane season due to global warming.

The strong 2006 hurricane season was predicted by scientists based on whatever methods they have been developing since before global warming theory even existed. Even global warming skeptics were predicting a strong 2006 hurricane season, so no the prediction for a strong 2006 season was certainly not based on global warming.

The hypothesis that a warmer world may contain stronger hurricanes was not used in 2006 season predictions.

Dumb much?

READ FROM THE ARTICLE:
Quote:
On the other side are Kerry Emanuel of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, one of the most respected hurricane scientists in the world, a team of meteorologists from Georgia Tech led by Peter Webster, an MIT-educated monsoon specialist, and Greg Holland, who earned his doctorate at Colorado State under Mr. Gray.
"You cannot blame any single storm or even a single season on global warming. ... Gore's statement in the movie is that we can expect more storms like Katrina in a greenhouse-warmed world. I would agree with this," said Judith Curry. She is chairwoman of Georgia Tech's School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, and is co-author, with Mr. Webster, Mr. Holland and H.R. Chang, of a paper titled "Changes in Tropical Cyclones," in the Sept. 16 issue of Science, a weekly publication of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Catch that? I hope so!

That is not a prediction for the 2006 hurricane season, which was the claim you made. It appears you might be the one backpeddling ever so slightly no?

Did you perhaps miss the sentence just before the one you quoted. It says:

"You cannot blame any single storm or even a single season on global warming"

That is claiming that the (inevitable) increase in the number and severity of hurricanes will be because of global warming.

Spin it any way you want to try to spin it, but once again, the environmentalists are left with egg on your face.
