I do understand how the grid works.

You do not seem to understand that TVA customers who elect to buy Green Power are paying more for their electricity.

This extra money goes to fund the development & operation of green power sources.

This allows more environmentally friendly power to be fed into the grid thus reducing the net pollution for the grid.

No not at all. But I do believe that change starts at home. I think he's done some great things, and he advocates great things. All I am saying is that he is not the messiah of the ecological movement, that some people make him out to be.

Oh I hardly think he is the Mesiah of the enviro movement. He is is just a person. But I do think he has been instrumental in getting the ball again and keeping ball rolling.

No it doesn't.

He gets his electricity right off the same power grid that everybody does. Period.

I know EXACTLY how public electricity works.

ALL electricity produced/bought, by the electric company, goes onto the SAME POWER GRID.

All electricity that is bought, by the consumer, comes off the SAME POWER GRID.

They do NOT run separate lines from "Green Power Producers". It does NOT happen.

If Gore wants to "Walk the Walk" he needs to do several things - NONE of which is using exorbitant amounts of electricity and natural gas (where's the "green" natural gas coming from, by the way?) to heat and light his MANSION!

Yep he gets his electricity off the same grid (now I will type real slow so you can understand this) but his money goes towards producing Green Energy. And The more people that go for the Green Energy option the more Green Energy is produced instead of dirty power.

His money goes to the same electric company as every other consumers...

You don't "save the environment" by using more electricity. You do it by using LESS. And you do it by using LESS Natural Gas. Duhhhhh...

Now, are you going to show me a picture of those special power lines running to Gore's mansion - or do you just want to go ahead and admit that you were WRONG about that TOO?

EXACTLY!

It's like me burning up 8,000 gallons of gas per year - in my car - but excusing it by saying, "Hey, it gets 35 miles per gallon!"

In addition, these Gore-ites just don't get it. They just don't understand that ALL THE ELECTRICITY COMES FROM THE SAME GRID. ALL THE NATURAL GAS COMES FROM THE SAME PIPELINE. There are no special "green lines" running to Gore's opulent mansion.
