Also, I would like to point out that our contribution to global warming has been believed, and documented, before Al Gore came on the scene.
If it weren't for trace amounts of greenhouse gases in Earth's atmosphere, such as CO2, Earth's average surface temperature would be about -20 degrees Celsius today based on Earth's average distance from the sun and the current average radiation output from the sun.

And, Earth's atmosphere wouldn't hold very much water vapor (another greenhouse gas) and any water vapor expelled from volcanoes would have an extremely short-lived lifespan in our atmosphere.

(We very likely owe our existence as complex organisms, let alone as humans, to CO2 that gets expelled from volcanoes.)

It's a shame that most people, I think, fail to consider these facts in the course of discussing global warming and, instead, claim that humans couldn't affect Earth's average surface temperature by increasing the concentration of CO2 in our Atmosphere.

The "point" that you apparently don't like the fact that Al Gore owns a very large home that, as a result, uses more energy to heat, cool, and electrify than the average US home?

Why won't anybody answer the simple question: Why doesn't Al Gore LIVE what he PREACHES?
So you are now saying our CO2 output is hurting our earth?

What I am saying - and have been repeatedly saying - is that Gore is a complete hypocrite and a disgrace.

So why won't you tree huggers answer some simple questions?

1. How much CO2 was blown into the atmosphere because Al Gore CHARTERED A JET to fly all over the country, burning up over 65,000 gallons of jet fuel, to promote his film on Global Warming?

2. How much COS is blown into the atmosphere - every month - from the Gore mansion, where they simply refuse to economize?

Yes, the CO2 output of humans definitely DOES have SOME effect on the earth's atmosphere.

The question is, HOW MUCH?

Clearly, it is NOT as overwhelming as the Cult of Global Warming would have us believe.

Now... defend your idol Al Gore.

Here is my post:

He can only be a hypocrite if what he says is the truth. Kind of a catch-22, huh?
Also, I would like to point out that our contribution to global warming has been believed, and documented, before Al Gore came on the scene.
Because someone takes the time to actually review the science, and believes the indicative evidence, without thier political orientation getting in the way, doesn't mean they are 'worshiping' anything, let alone Al Gore.
Idealogical aburdity is only relevant to each person's opinion.
I am not defending Gore. There is no defense in my post. I simply wanted to point out that it is not possible to be a liar and a hypocrite as well. I understand your statement that he is a hypocrite. If he is telling the truth, which you have basicly just said he is, than he is not a liar. You can claim that his info is inncorrect but that does not mean he is lying if he believes it.
Now, to answer your qustions: as for him being a hypocrite, well, maybe he is just a little. I think the man should do things at home to cut down his energy consumption. On this we can agree. The carbon credits program he is invovled with makes up for it alittle but not as much as it would if he conserved his enery usage at home as well.
I don't think his burning jet fuel to spread the word about global warming is out of line. I think the positive effect he has on everyone's energy consumption far outwieghs his fuel usage. I mean, look at all the pollution we create in our quest for more oil, including our war machine.
Defending Gore? Hardly. Giving my honest view? Yes.

I disagree completely.

There was NO REASON for him to fly, in a chartered jet, all over the country like that. NONE. Why didn't he fly commercial?

Al Gore's primary concern is NOT the environment. If it was, he'd LIVE what he's preaching. His primary concern politically-motivated attention. He's keeping his name and face in the spotlight. I'm not sure exactly why, but we'll find out soon enough.
