Not sure where you got your information, but most of the soldiers are national guard and old lifers in the military. these are not young men. there have been women in their 50s over there, grandmothers. | Yes, that's one unusual feature of this war. Lots of older national guardsmen being sent over. I recall a couple of years ago, I went to a "welcome home" celebration in Casper for one of our Wyoming units coming back from a tour of duty in Iraq. The vast majority of these guys were over 30, and those 40 and over weren't uncommon. There was even a guy in his 50s with grandchildren. If at first you don’t succeed – try, try again and then quit.
