The Americans liked our flag so much they copied the colours for their own flag!
The military structure - especially the Navy - was built on the British model too. I doubt the girl in the picture realises any of that though.

I am with you on this when the disrespect is intentional, I don't see intentional disrespect here, certainly nothing to go ballistic over a child letting the Flag touch the ground.
A friendly reminder would be in order, and any one of my Cub Scouts would be right there and tell them that the Flag shouldn't touch the ground. Brings a tear to my eye when I see them do stuff like that on their own.

How do you feel about people who "crucify" the National Anthem?

Like Jimi Hendrix or Roseanne Barr or Whitney Houston?

Jimi Hendrix did it intentionally. It sounded like pure shit. He paid the price by choking in his own vomit a bit later.

Wait...Wait. Yesterday was your so-called Independences Day.
Other Countries do have the rights to celebrate what ever day
that's honoring the freedom of their country too.

Most of these posts is the reason why I do not celebrate the
4th of July. I am going to re-type my reason again. The 4th of
July is suppose to be a day to celebrate being free, and bashing
someone because they celebrated their independences is taking
away their rights. Now tell me what's so independences about
that?

Yesterday, (All Day) I was dressed in my Red,Black, and Green
militant colors, and I saluted the Red,Black, and Green flag.
Does that disqualify me as an American? No....I call it being
Independent.
Independent means not to be bound by or definitively committed
to be controled.

Now what's so stupid by doing what makes you feel happy?
This Topic was a bite to much for this thread.
