I've been on diets and exercise regimes since I retired - nothing worked. I finally found a doctor that would do the surgery. Since I can only eat 3 meals a day @ 1/4 cup each, there is no way I can't lose weight.

I didn't have the full bypass where they remove most of the stomach and the upper intestine - they just did the stomach surgery. Now, if I eat more than 1/4 cup of anything (and, LOL, look at your 1/4 cup measuring cup to see how big that really is! LOL), I run a very real risk of tearing the new small stomach pouch they've created.

It's only been four days, and already I've lost 14 pounds lOL> ... though admittedly, that's mostly water weight at this point.

Exercise and dieting would have works just as well for those with sufficient self-discipline.

what's with garysher and this royal 'we' and 'us' he's always using?

I know he's a big drama queen and all -but using the royal 'we' is a tad over the top isn't it?

I would expect nothing less for someone that thinks incest ought to be legalized. Very little self control or discipline in thoughts like that. Not a good prognosis for long term success for these types of medical procedures.

Actually that would be "drain a bladder". Your kidneys actually drain into the bladder. No one can voluntarily "drain a kidney".

Well, Tristan, good luck with that. Every ounce of fat America loses is a good thing, IMO. I hope you achieve your goals.

I'm fortunate enough that even at my age, I can lose fat very easily when I exersise.
Unfortunately, I also gain flab easily if I quit exersising and start eating junk...lol. And so it goes.

My town (Sebastopol, CA) has no public nudity ban. No one ever takes advantage of that. I live just outside the city limits, so it doesn't apply to me.

There is a lady down South here that mows her lawn in the buff. The local tow comapany makes pretty good off of her working to get a full body tan as she mows. When the locals see her for the first time and run their vehicles off the road twisting their necks to get a second look.
