Kids will always find a horrible way to dress. It's part of being a kid. So long as they aren't exposing several inches of butt crack -- in which case they are at least seriously bending public nudity ordinances -- it's all "good" as far as I'm concerned.

It's not irrelevant, IMHO. If you dress like an thug, be expected to be treated as such.

Yes, but expecting to be treated like an idiot is a decision for that individual, not the state. Which is my point as to why it's irrelevant to the topic of the thread (law prohibiting clothing).

Since when have kids NOT dressed in a way that would prompt their elders to think they looked like idiots and thugs? It's part of being a kid. It's FUN to piss adults off.

Sheesh... don't any of you recall being young?

I recall a K-mart security guard tailing me and 2 friends around the store for almost an hour on a Saturday afternoon in 1973. I think we must have looked like "dirty hippies".

Honor students and band geeks all, we had just finished washing a couple of hundred cars to help pay for a band trip.

Damn those ragged bell-bottomed hip-huggers. leather headbands and moccasins!

And dark sunglasses! Only druggies wear sunglasses indoors. (I know because my teachers told me so.)
Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this.

Define dressing like a thug. that is subjective. besides, what if people went around telling gays to stop acting like the f word, and they won't get treated like the f word? I do not think you would like that. First it is stopping baggy pants and then it is stopping crossdressers. or women in pants perhaps.

I find that an interesting statement from a gay man. "dress right". again, let's liken this to gay rights. just "act straight". "use your gdbrain and common sense".see how that works? it is not nice is it.

I'm disappointed that people would look at the way someone is dressed and judge them on that. not on how they act. now if teens are acting out, harassing people, causing trouble that is one thing. but to hate them for their clothes is a frightening mindset. it is a conformist mindset and it leads down a slippery slope.remember, "do not judge a book by it's cover". And "clothes don't make the man".

They aren't banning a style of clothing. They are banning public nudity basically, or in other words more clearly defining what is to be considered public nudity.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.
