Since none of the states that recognize common law marriage also recognize same sex marriage then I am thinking not.

No, "what if" statements bring up slippery slopes, as you can see i agreed with CF's points...no slope was created.

No I disagree, statements don't bring up the slippery slope, our legal system combined with our ill concieved politically correct drive for "equality" brings up slippery slopes.

I've never been one to worry about being called a slur. I realize that they DO have meaning to some though.
My personal motto on that is...
"It's either the truth or a lie you can't hide from the truth and you don't have to worry about lies."

PC equality has black people getting radio disc jockeys fired for using words that we use all the time. If we don't want words used, don't support "artists" that use it.
