More schools offer gay studies classes - Yahoo! News

Years after creating a smattering of gay-related classes, more than two dozen American universities are now offering full-fledged minors in gay studies and expanding the field to include disciplines across the college curriculum.

Issues such as same-sex marriage and gays in the military have fueled interest in the programs, which have been established, among other places, at Ivy League institutions Yale and Cornell and DePaul University in Chicago, one of the nation's largest Catholic schools.

Many schools, rather than offering a degree in gay studies, have added gay-related courses under an umbrella of new programs looking broadly at human sexuality. In some cases, heterosexuality is being debated as a construct that is as much social as biological.
How ludicrous to offer special classes in "gay studies"! It sounds like something out of a Monty Python script!

Now UCLA offers a class in "Gay and Lesbian Perspectives in Pop Music"!
No doubt employers will be rushing to hire graduates in that topic.

Isn't this the group that keeps trying to convince us they're really no different? If so why do we need to study their perspectives on pop music?

How long before Berkely offers a class in

"Zoophile perspectives in Pop Music - are we barking up the wrong tree?"

I'm sure Halliburton is looking out for Gay Studies graduates to help build pipelines in Iraq.

That would be an excellent subject for a master's thesis don't you think?

Yes it's true. They are hiring people with degrees in poetry too.

We're discussing the rights of United States citizens. We're discussing the government recognition of law-abiding United States citizens and their families.

To the best of my knowledge, animals are not allowed to become United States citizens - nor are they able to enter a legally binding contract.

Your discussion of "zoophiles" is both insulting and ignorant. If you are so interested in discussing having sex with animals, perhaps you could start a thread and discuss that with others who have your interest, leaving this thread for those interested in the issue presented.

The government already recognises homosexuals - why do we need a college class to study that?

The issue presented is dreaming up ludicrous "classes" to "study" people with defective sexual urges.

The whole idea is so nonsensical that zoophilia seems to fit in perfectly.

Everybody knows this is another politically-correct stunt to try and convince everyone that homosexuality is okay after all.

The only thing "everybody knows" is that you've brought up having sex with animals four times on this thread.

You are obviously obsessed and fascinated with that subject. I, personally, don't care what you're obsessed about ... but I would prefer you not ruin the threads for those of us interested in discussing the subject presented.

Again, if you are so interested in sex with animals, please start a thread so that you can discuss it will others with similar interests.

The comparison is perfectly obvious for those who are prepared to look.

BTW why doesn't UCLA offer a class on Music Perspectives of Left-Handed People?
