Would you respond toe same way to an alcoholic who successfully gave up alcohol?

Since alcoholism is a disorder that causes grave physical harm to the alcoholic whereas homosexuality is not, you are comparing apples to oranges. In other words, your question is completely without merit.
Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this.

So you're saying sour grapes is like apples and oranges??

How fruity!

However, my the growing success of this process has huge merit to people who struggle with homosexuality and want to be "straight".

I guess that depends on what you consider to be harm and a disorder. I consider an inborn condition that points your sexual desires in a direction that is sterile and that the human body is ill equipped to handle a disorder.

Sour grapes used to make wine is bad for alcoholics. Therefore, the analogy is valid.

1. Gay people are not sterile (Well, some are but so are some straight people.)

2. My body seems to "accommodate" being gay quite well. The fact is that I've never noticed any problems at all.

OK you're right. Good point.

And homosexuals are sometimes referred to as fruits?

Not by me of course. I consider it to be a vicious slur.

As with curing alcoholism, the first step is acknowledgment of the problem.

Well, the gays and ex-gays seem to be at odds with one another.

And then some ex-ex-gays are weighing in.

Which makes me wonder if any ex-ex-ex-gays are going to join the fray...

and do on.

That's not what I said. I said homosexuality is sterile, not a homosexual. do you really want me to compare it to the other orientations that are also sterile but the persons with them aren't? I can, if you really want me to.

2. My body seems to "accommodate" being gay quite well. The fact is that I've never noticed any problems at all.

Last I heard, the human female didn't have a sexual organ that facilitated the use of her sexual organ in the homosexual orinetation. And the male didn't have a sexual organ which facilitated sex in the manner of the vagina.

My body has accomodated my dialysis treatments for the last 17 years, but I still know the human body is supposed to pee.
