Not a very hard leap to make. Just change out the alcohol for sex. And even among heterosexuals, there are sexual disorder.

But among all sexual disfunction, the magic link is sex.

No one dies from "being" an alcoholic. It's the dangerous amounts of alcohol that is dangerous. No male dies from homosexuality, but anal sex has been proven to be much more dangerous than vaginal sex. So I still consider the analogy valid.

One is not an alcoholic until one consumes dangerous amounts of alcohol.

Since only about 60% of male homosexuals and 0% of lesbians practice anal sex, that leaves 70% of homosexuals who do not practice this "more dangerous" form of sex.

Makes for a pretty weak analogy since 100% of alcoholics consume -- or have consumed if they have achieved sobriety -- too much alcohol.

Additionally, this planet's increasing population shows that continued procreation is not needed.
But as we both know, homosexuality has been around from waay before that was a concern. Since there are other biologically sterile sexual urges, once again, that doesn't raise homosexuality above "disordered" either.

Alcoholics die from the effects of prolonged alcohol consumption. There are many medical conditions that arise from heavy alcohol use. However, everyone who drinks does not become an alcoholic. Not everyone who practices anal sex is going to die from it. Not all homosexuals are into anal sex. Is anal sex only found in homosexuals? There is a risk to everything, and no one is ever completely safe from harm.
