No. Pedophiles do not receive any "special protection".

B should receive a stiffer punishment than A because society deems that B is more heinous than A.

No.
Different MOTIVES of crime.
The difference is not the "people", but the MOTIVE employed in the crime.

Again, it's not a matter of the PEOPLE being inferior, but rather the CRIME and its evaluation.
It's idiotic to pretend that the victim is judged by the sentence of the offender.

Thanks for reminding me of one of the reasons why it was easy to leave this board.

If neither of you can debate, and have only an interest in mindly deriding gays with non-topical foolishness, there is really no point in talking to you.

I don't know why you feel that way? I don't see why you are soo upset about my question. If a law abiding citizen who has paid his debt to society gets beat up because his "sexual orientation" is a pedophile, I think any "hate crime" legislation should cover him too. I am serious.

And what about Philip Buble? Should his father have been charged with a hate crime? Google it and let me know.

It's a subject that other "sexual orientations" discuss among themselves. For someone who claims to love a good debate, you sure get incensed quickly when you really have no good retort. Maybe you ought to put me on ignore like Tris.

It's becoming increasingly obvious that you have no real arguments.

Your only defence appears to be what the legal profession refers to as "outraged indignation" or "how dare you say that about me!".

That coupled with personal insults, and usually leading to ignoring your critics or wandering off like a spoiled child - defeated.

Why do your posts sound increasingly like a spoiled little girl who can't get to watch her favourite TV channel??

When will you learn to grow up and stand your ground like a man??

Instead of hiding in the corner and pouting!

What is the criteria for "real standards? Are you the arbiter of said standards? And what's "anti-gay"about pointing out the BS that is pro-gay at the expense of common sense?

Instead, we have idiots asking stupid questions that should be easily answered by themselves. But they ask them to try and make THEIR one-liners.

But then you have the ACLU saying that we might need signs in bathrooms to keep males from having sex with each other.
We have gay people saying that sex has very little to do with procreation.
We have "hate crimes" that are supposed to protect people from hate, but we have to define exactly "which" people deserve said protection because obviously there are certain people out there who simply aren't worthy of protection from hate.

You want to talk about question that should answer themselves?

Isn't a law abiding pedophile worthy of consideration if a crowd of people attack him? He pays taxes, he is a legal citizen, and if a group attacks him because of his "orientation"/"sickness"/"disorder" why doesn't he deserve protection under this "hate crime" legislation? Or is this just another thinly veiled pro-gay but damn anything else bit of fluff?
Just sayin'.

I seriously hope you are not, because that means I would have over-estimated your intelligence.

Despite your attempts to misrepresent the situation, "pedophilia" is not a "sexual orientation".
And despite your attempts to misrepresent the situation, the state governments which adopt legislation which includes "sexual orientation" as something that is listed as a characteristic under "hate crime legislation" have CLEARLY ESTABLISHED that pedophilia is not a sexual orientation.

Ergo, if you want to "seriously" consider this, I recommend you actually read what the STATE definitions of "sexual orientation" is before we can proceed.

And on that, I am serious.

"no good retort"?
Your "argument" centers around misrepresenting what "sexual orientation" actually means.
I have clearly defined "sexual orientation" with multiple resources.
I see NOTHING from you which defines "sexual orientation" as including pedophilia.
(from a real source...)

If you are serious about debate, show me a state legislature definition which includes "pedophilia" as a "sexual orientation".
If you're not, continue in the same demeanor as garysher. Then you and he can enjoy the type of discussions that are more at his level without me.

Ball is in your court.

================================================== =

And again, for the record, stick to the topic.
If you want to start a thread on gay bathroom sex, then do so.
I'm not entertaining this crap of attempting to side-track the topic.
