Notice I said I don't recommend it though before you get carried away.

With todays media and communication network, 'do it yourself' abortion would be much easier than it was pre Roe.

Outlaw abortion and watch a thousand websites detailing home abortion pop up overnight. There are already some out there. From herbal abortions to building your very own menstrual extractor.

Pre Roe, most women actually believed that they could be prosecuted for having an abortion and so hesitated to see a doctor if something went wrong. With the information available on the web, that wouldn't be a problem today.

Hell, back then, most women didn't even know when the zygote implanted, let alone know that the correct amount of aspirin at that time could prevent implantation.

You think you would ever see any jailtime for the parties you mentioned, FX?? That's not one of your fantasies, isn't it?

Adoption into loving homes has always been an option. Hasn't decreased abortion.

The best way to diminish abortion is to have good, reliable birth control available and to educate people on how to use it.

Either that, or people just need to screw less and masturbate more.

I had a good friend back when I lived in SoCal that had been a sex counselor.

At the time I knew her, she had been in a steady, very loving relationship with a man only 6 months or so. Prior to that, she had been divorced for some years.

Her POSSLQ (Steve) was out of town and the girls were going out. I asked her if she missed him, and her reply was "You know, I used to counsel people that they needed to be able to find pleasure by themselves, and that this pleasure could be more gratifying then being with someone else. Boy, was I wrong."

That just proves that unless and until you can hook up with somebody you can have a truely loving relationship with -- in other words, a relationship within which a pregnancy is much more likely to planned and wanted -- you should just jerk off.

Most "unwanted" pregnacies don't result from such relationships.

And, in my experience at least, a good, well-planned and properly executed jerk-off session CAN be more gratifying than meaninless sex with somebody I really don't care about or know.

As the old saying goes.. nobody knows how to please me quite the way I do....

Actually, there's already several websites on that very subject. Their reasons for doing so, being that IF abortion was ever outlawed, that there would be websites already up with information for 'do it yourself' abortions...

The easiest recommendation being the 'vacume method', followed by herbal mixtures but advisement to seek someone with a knoweledge of plant useages, dosages, etc. cause if in the incorrect amounts, the tonics could be toxic...

And those herbal treatments are broken down from 'morning after' type useage, to tri-mester-weekly useages.

Heck, even a few of them actually tell you who you can contact, that has the experience to help you abort? Or will mix the tonic up for your specific needs?

Although, they do advise the women researching them out, that for now the best method of abortion is to go to a clinic because of safty reasons. That the methods they suggest are only if the woman is prohibited by state/federal laws in obtaining a legal abortion.

So the internet access and useage is already there. And IF legal abortion was denied in the future nation wide, those certain sites would have alot more traffic then they do now.

Most Saturday mornings when I go to the Cathedral for Altar Guild, I drive by an abortion clinic, housed in a large medical building, about 6 stories high. I don't exactly know where the office is. The point is, though, is that there are usually about 6-8 people with signs, bibles, praying outside the clinic.

You're not saying anything that anybody doesn't already know Highway. It's like that at every one of the clinics. Hence the reason that they will do the abortions elsewhere now, not the clinics themselves, to protect their clients from harrassment from those protesters.

And they're not the only one there with the signs...The Pro-Choice side is usually standing right across from them protesting them as well...Reason why the police have extra patrols through those particular clinic areas. Cause eventually it goes from shoving and shouting over one another, to physical altercations. And both groups are guilty, not just one or the other.

Yep, I don't see the police out there, Ali. It is peaceful enough.

I was driving home from my market on Sunday. It was pretty hot, especially for October, about 87 degrees with humidity around 80%.

All along 44th Street (one of the busiest roads in my neck of the woods) were people lined up with signs about abortion is murder, yada yada yada.

I realize they were just enacting their right to free speech. I was also enacting my right to free speech when I flipped them off as I drove by.
