Why do you call it platelets and not blood donations?

Platelet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I, with the same types of donors, am usually in a special donating room for 1-2 hours, compared to about 30 minutes for a regular donation. So a donor can do it every 48 hours, instead of having to wait 8 weeks.

Is that because they take more of your blood than from the regular donors?

Another thing about platets is that and person can receive them from any donor. Blood types do not have to match.

Only if they need RBC (red blood cells). Otherwise, the answer is no. It is all returned, helped with an anti-clotting agent. You would need to look up the web to find out more.

Royal Jordanian Airlines out of Chicago. I will spend the night in Amman and fly to Baghdad the next day. Leaving Pensacola Monday. I'll get a two week leave after four months.
