As for gays in the armed forces. I really could not care less. Other countries who allow gays in their miltary and are doing just fine. Please present me with any evidence gays do anything other then personal conjecture and prejudice. Unfortunately for the backward rednecks who support this discriminatory policy primarily because gays scare them (which makes me wonder about their own sense of self worth) evidence is on our side and prejudice on yours.
The real problem is that gay members of the Armed Forces insist on wearing pink uniforms. This completely offsets the camoflauge uniforms the straight soldiers are wearing allowing them to get shot much easier.

True again, but at least the hetro (opps, can I say that?) isnt aware of it.

the only difference is that without DADT, gays wouldn't be under constant fear
But the fear is only tranfered to striaght people who just want to take a shower with out feeling like they are a peep show.

IMO, living under the stress of constant fear would make a soldier far more "dangerous" than the off-chance he is "eye-balling" somebody in the shower. Not to mention, many people have stated there is no longer communal showering in the military anyway - there are petitions between.
I know myself personaly wouldnt want to be in any situation where I could be looked at in a sexual manner, by someone of the same sex. These men and women are forced to be very close to each other in all types of situations. The last thing any of them should have to worry about is, well, you know.

How about being looked at sexually by a member of the opposite sex? There was this cute blonde soldier chick in the mess hall at lunch today that looked pretty hot (and she was in uniform).

Find out. Go ask her if she would feel comfortable showering with you.

She may be cute and petite, but I think such a question would result in a rifle butt to my forehead.

As for gays in the armed forces. I really could not care less. If people want to protect their country via the armed forces more power to them. Other countries allowing gays in their miltary are doing just fine and have no issues. None of the things presented by anyone opposing gays in the miltary in this thread supports their nonsensical position. Please present me with any evidence gays do anything other then personal conjecture and prejudice. Unfortunately for the backward rednecks who support this discriminatory policy, primarily because gays scare them (which makes me wonder about their own sense of self worth), evidence is on our side and prejudice on yours.

As for the money spent on excluding gays in the military that could of been spent on something like body armor, more training and so forth but instead of using it to help protect the people in the military we waste it on prejudice. Sure it may not be a huge amount considering the military budget but it could of been better spent.

You didn't respond to why you believe American servicemen are less capable of dealing with fellow troops who are gay than the servicemen in other civilized Western countries.

I wonder how they spent that $364M?

That estimate was arrived at by estimating how much it cost to train the servicemembers who were discharged, not how much they spent prosecuting the DADT policy. It doesn't include all branches of service however.
