Where do you separate the "negative" from just having an opposing point of view?

And if you can't handle debating a certain topic, why would you join a "debate" site? And complain about the subject matter brought up??? Come on. Grow up.

When I came here, I apologized in advance for the impending bad behavior of a couple of the yahoo folks, and it appears they did not disappoint.

Again, to the site owners, my apologies for the ongoing bad behavior of a few malcontented pot-stirrers. It's why I don't come here as often as I used to, and I suspect this is true of many others.

Again, a shame.
Cyn, Tristan is bitching about some things that aren't true. He has me on ignore for being insulting and offensive and dominating threads.

On the occasion where I've found myself overly offensive I have apologized.

I have neither the time nor inclination to dominate any thread. I work 10-12 hours a day every day.

I'm not even against gay marriage or adoption.

So you see, part of the problem with Tristan and this board is Tristan himself.

I agree - Jefferson and Alias were actually worse than some others here now. However, LOL, IMO, just because there is something worse doesn't mean something bad is desirable - or enjoyable to be around.

I agree that intolerance, negativity, and bigotry are problems with some of our members in some contexts; but as a rule, you knock one bigot down and another takes his place. Also, generally speaking, defending the truth even though it may have its downs is still is a relatively positive place compared with most of the crap that's on the internet believe it or not.
Again, we're in agreement. I am a participant on many sites - this one is definitely a positive one. I was specfically referring to this particular issue on this forum...and how people who were genuinely interested in the issue, beyond being offensive and insulting and/or writing one-line unfunny quips to re-start a circular argument, have been chased away. I still think it's a shame. I'm not suggesting there is any cure of the ailment ... merely acknowledging the disease.

Fx, I feel for ya. Hard thing to have that disease you got there. So when they did that colonscopy on you, they found a cranial growth. So they obviously opted to save the colon and blast the cranial matter, huh?

Well I do prefer to be known as the whole ass than just a simple a$$hole. Just being an anus seems like it would be confining.

Well that is EXACTLY how I feel. I am here because I took the day off and and looking to re-connect, but not at the expense of meeting up with a-holes like that. That's why I'm not around here much, although I think this site is a very nice one with a lot of great features. Sad to say for me, because this could be such a nice forum.

I remember Tad bragging about it being "moderated."

I said somebody's avatar had "spooky eyes (okay I said " 'n shit" too)" and got infracted, and yet deliberate pot stirrers get to stay despite their many "bannings?" So just what is up with that? So you want nice discussion on this thread? Talk to your "big guy" mod.

Are you REALLY in Iraq? I just wonder because if you are then why are you so worried about what Tristan says and not so much about saving your own ass?

I've missed a lot of this thread, I'll admit. But why are you so worried about his thoughts when you're getting your ass shot at?

Obviously you haven't been around much. Tristan has been bitching the same crying a$$ bitch for a couple months now. There seems to be a ghost exodus of people leaving in droves. Yet he's never had the names of regular contributors that no longer participate. If you look at the statistics page, most of the top 30 members are still regulars.

PN isn't the only one who has asked Tristan to unwad his frilly panties a bit.

I recommend..

How could anyone be "chased away" from an internet forum?? That's a victim mentality.

Maybe circular arguments occur when the same failed premise is repeated?

Every accredited medical association in America has agreed that making witty comments on internet forums is not a disease or disorder of any kind.
