Awww....

My Dad told me (jokingly) that the reason why he put such an effort into raising me and my brothers right is so that he could spoil his grandchildren with impunity.

Sounded like you had a bit of a weak mind there. I'm not trying to offend you, but getting married 4 times, when you know you are a lesbian, is a bit ridiculous.

Well Pen and Fx, isn't that rather judgmental and narrow on your parts?

And, no, I am not defending someone just cos I too have been married as many times.

The name of this site is not Defending the Number of Times {you} were Married it is called Defending the Truth!!!

The Truth is that Englishflower has bothered to make herself vulnerable by drawing from personal experience, for the sake of explaining the impact of social expectations.

You guys nor I have any idea what kind of hopes Englishflower brought to the altar. Sadly she may have had the notion that her hopes had to defy her dreams. And so she tried and tried ...

Please don't be critical of her. Be human. And consider the negative effects of injustice and intolerance.

I'm sorry OD, but marrying 4 men when you knew you were gay would be like me marrying 4 fat women when I knew I liked skinny ones. The relationships were doomed to failure from the beginning. It was unfair to the men that she married from a "love"s standpoint and a "time" one as well. To call my disposition "pissed" would be an extreme understatement.

You know what, Fx? Before you get your toga tied in a knot here...hear me out.

Maybe. Just maybe, Englishflower showed her husband (s) more love and better love than any heterosexual woman would. Cos she was trying soooo much harder to make it work. Cos if it would have, she could have felt 'normal'...

And so shame on you and all your archaic ideas and criticisms. You don't know. Why is it so hard to admit you are clueless? Just admit it and wish others well in their lives and how they live!!!

OhDear

P.S. Englishflower, I am not even intimating that you were not, are not normal. I only believe that you musta felt for far too many years that you had to fit a mold that was deemed "normal" by others.

And why do you work so hard at imagining a clue as you did in that last post? We are here to express opinions. And all opinions don't have perfume and daisys all over them. This is the real world where cops kill grandmothers in wheelchairs and men rape babies.

"My" idea of "marriage" comes after a courtship ritual where you get to find out if you are compatible with the other person on a level that will sustain the relationship for the rest of your life. If I'm gay, that ain't happnin with a female. THAT is why I say it's utter BS for someone to get married 4 times and then decide "Hey I like women". If were to marry 4 times, and my father has done that very thing, and then decide I like men, that would be bullshit to all the women whose time and feelings I wasted.

I'm sorry if my "cactus" opinion is different than your "daisy" one, but that's just the way I feel. I'm just glad our opinions don't have be scrubbed by the "OD checker". Clueless??? You gotta be kiddin' me.

Just admit it and wish others well in their lives and how they they live!!!

I am, I wish her exes a much happier, stable, and truthful relationship next time. How's that?

Dear Sir:

Is there not a kinder way to share your opinions? I do not site those with views that oppose others. But can't you say them as opinions without attacking the person?
