I believe the Bible is all of those things.

It doesn't mean that I have to believe that the Grand Canyon was formed by Noah's Flood, or that God separated the races by sending them to diverse areas of the world with different languages.

I can believe that the stories told in the Bible are excellent tales, myths, allegories, metaphors and lessons to help one live a life of generosity, compassion, love, loyalty, kindness and humility WITHOUT believing that Jonah lived inside a whale.
