Oh boy - this article actually quotes real research and mentions names:

"A new strain of the "flesh-eating" MRSA bacteria is spreading among gay men in San Francisco and Boston, says a research study published this week.

The online study, published in The Annals of Internal Medicine, was led by Dr. Binh Diep, a researcher at the San Francisco General Hospital Medical Center. It identifies multidrug-resistant USA300 as a virulent new strain of the bacteria that's normally been associated with hospitals and long-term care facilities.

This new strain of MRSA is difficult to treat because it is resistant to methicillin and many more of the antibiotics used to treat the earlier strains.
Diep's findings suggest that multidrug-resistant USA300 is rare in the general population. But the potential for it to spread is enormous, he says.

He says if the bacterium eventually crosses over into the general population, it will be "unstoppable." At this point, prevention is the only defence. "Handwashing is key," Diep says. "And washing after sex is particularly important."
Boston and San Francisco are not the only cities experiencing such outbreaks among gay men.

Reports of the "superbug" bacteria have surfaced in New York and Los Angeles.

A group of Canadian HIV specialists published a study in the July/August 2007 issue of the Canadian Journal of Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology.

I wonder if the mysterious Rockway Institute will include this in their quest to clarify facts about LGBT lives?

this is stupid

you're actually taking AIDS statistics and std rates (which are usually associated with those NOT in long-term relationships) and trying to relate them to gay committed relationships?

that's just STUPID

it's like blaming the heterosexual marriages for the underage teenage pregnancy and std rate

Man's got a point there. I wonder where one can dig up accurate stats on how many men in committed monagamous relationships with other men were at one time though playing the promiscuous gay life.

I mean, many a man in a heterosexual committed relationship now, has had and did contribute to the std rate and underage teen pregnancies.

So whereas the maturing of the individual in either gay or straight relationships cannot be held accountable for the immature acts of others at this time, they may well be a very real stat in the foolish bedlam of std's and teen pregnancies, and aids though not currently in an ongoing role of raising Cain.

So you are saying that the teenage pregnancy rate must be factored in when determining the happiness of committed, monogamous heterosexual couples. Right?
Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this.

Perhaps. If that committed monogamous couple were a stat in the teenage pregnancy data...

I am just gonna be so sure you said something profound there T-man. But I don't grasp your meaning.

Maybe that is why when I posted that Idiot Test, I only posted it without saying how well or not I did!

Anyhow to keep this thread pure, and not discuss my intellect, but for the sake of learning, tell me what your socks have to do with the joys of gay or straight marriages.

I'm loving the "new" OD. You have a keen "edge" now that can be hilarious at times.

Funny thing Fx. I am not NEW best I know and am not sure I have a keen edge and dadgum it all! I was not trying to be hilarious. When I do try to be funny, seems to me no one even knows it. Like when I posted the picture of Lucy at her Counseling Booth with Charlie Brown. Now to me??? That was so funny!!!

But T-Man took me seriously.
