| Gay Couples More Likely to Have Healthier Relationships A series of research studies has revealed that those in same-sex relationships have an increased likelihood of better family and marital relations then those in a heterosexual relationship. Executive Director of the Rockway Institute Robert-Jay Green said that flexibility of gender roles and the equal division of parenting and household tasks results in more same-sex couples having healthier relationships than heterosexuals. “It all comes down to greater equality in the relationship. Research shows that lesbian and gay couples - by virtue of being composed of two partners of the same gender - have a head start in escaping the traditional gender role divisions that make for power imbalances and dissatisfaction in many heterosexual relationships,” Mr Green said. In the battle of all male versus all female, lesbian couples have been identified as having the healthiest relationships, with gay male couples coming in second place. Mixed gender relationships came in third position. Results from the study also revealed that same-sex couples were also significantly more flexible than heterosexual couples in the handling of guidelines and roles in a relationship. | ...or could it be just as true that brothers could sense more equality or sisters could sense more equality and therefore have a healthier relationship by contrast, cos they do already, by being of the same sex, hqve the same sense of self-worth imposed by the worth society has given to each sex??? Therefore it is not that they are two engaging in gay sex, but simply two of the same sex, therefore living in a sense of equality that society has bestowed on them. OhDear P.S. Also they may have more of a "it's you and me against the world" complex. | |||||||||||||||||||||

Mute people make great librarians because they can't talk. Deaf people make great jackhammer operators or flightline directors since they are already deaf. Anyway.... What about this link at the bottom of the page though. That I found much more interesting. Superbug Spreads in Gay Community ::GenQ Notice I didn't attack his source for being so "gay wing" oriented. Everybody notice that? I was good right? Last edited by fxashun; 01-16-2008 at 06:25 PM.

Good point. Since there are a lot of people in the world who are against the very existence of gay couples, I think I would call it a "you and me against the world" reality. Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this.

| I would...I'm sure there have been made-for-TV movies about it. Probably on Lifetime or something. Oh yeah, it was about a black couple...Just kidding. LOL. | |||||||||||||||||||||

Just thinking that people being people, there is a thing that occurs when folk feel that they are being picked on. They bond from that. I have seen it many times over in the work I have done, as well as by my having two disabled children, and again, even in religious affiliation. In my work, dealing with the homeless, I have seen them bond over their sense of injustices in the system. In disability, I have noted the protective bond when one is being made vulnerable to ridicule. And in religious affiliation, it's the Baptists vs. the Pentecostals. Even here Segep...on the thread where people left behind their ideas about abortion or gay marriage, or Democrat or Republican, and all joined together, it was AGAINST David Henry and his hate-idealogy. A common enemy goes a long way in bonding folk. Nothing says love among the rank and file like being persecuted. OhDear
