I heard the Fred Phelps was going to picket Heath Ledger's funeral.

Did that actually happen?

Nothing has been reported so far of whether he did or not, Knotty. But Phelps really does not know what he is doing. Anybody could have played the role that Ledger did, and Phelps would picket his funeral, too. If all of Hollywood's actors played the role of Ennis Del Mar, then Phelps would make an idiot of himself more and more.

It appears that so far the Leger family has been able to outmaneuver the Phelps clan. They had to settle for making asses of themselves at the SAG awards.

Since they claim to be protesting homosexuality, I wonder which would be actually worse. A lifelong gay person, or someone who attends funerals protesting homosexuality. Damn, I'd hate to be THAT moderator.

I think far too many people focus on the fire and brimstone God of the Old Testament, and not what Jesus actually taught people. To me, that is mental illness that Phelps and his ilk are suffering from. It sure isn't what Jesus meant for people to do in his name, I'd wager.

Maybe so, but that wasn't the point. The post I quoted was specifically taking about the time of judgment at the Pearly Gates. So I asked who is the worse sinner, protesting the funeral or being gay. I think that's an appropriate question.
