No, it isn't. Things that are illegal now, in the past were legal but immoral. It was legal for a man to do just about anything but steal the property of another man. A child can't consent, an adult can.

Society evolves as mankind gains knowledge, wisdom, education, experience, compassion and understanding.

That which does not evolve will stagnate and rot.

Nope. "Moral" is relative to the times. In some societies it's moral to them to beat their wives. But in others it's not. While WE might think it's okay to eat beef but not dog, others might find dog meat a delicacy. Some societies find it moral to marry a child while others don't. So we can't use "moral","legal", or "consent" as a standard for right and wrong.

Such as those which say absolutely nothing like yours? Considering homosexuality also had been condoned in some societies, many of the same ones that allow pederasty, but as a planet we had evolved beyond that, it seems allowing "gay marriage" would be a step backward.

Who ever had the power decided what was moral. Now it's a bit more equal in regards to what is acceptable. It would seem to me that as women and minorities gained more freedom, we have injected a true moral sense into society.

Women, yes, but minorities? If you are talking about the U.S., you have another argument altogether. Since here, the rights were taken away first. This country was built on some shaky ground to begin with.

Homosexuality on the other hand is species/mammalian/complex lifeform wide a null issue.
Comparing it to gender and racial equality is a bit disingenuous considering we have a "why" for those aspects of ourselves.

You're right, fx. Men have abused power over women, no matter the race. But the more powerful men have also abused the less powerful men. How about, it's mens sick perversions that have caused most of the worlds problems, and as they have lost some power, the moral stakes are being raised.

I think you know the difference between someone preying on another person and homosexuality. As a matter of fact, I'd like some statistics on how many people have been raped by gay people. Because it seems to me that rape tends to be a heterosexual man's act, no? So if that is your argument towards perversion, I think we can see who is the most perverted among the group.

But we aren't talking about rape. We are talking about the instinctual urge compelling a person to be attracted to whatever.

Rape is another issue altogether and is dividing the topic.

As pedophelia and homosexuality are not to be considered in the same argument.
