garysher, on another thread, we were discussing your belief that it is possible to "cure homosexuals" of their "illness".

you are unable to deliver information that justifies your statement that it is an illness. you can believe that if you like, some people do, but you cannot say it is anything more than your opinion.

i have twice attempted to direct you to independent information regarding this debate. information that is not biased by any affiliation with the gay lobby or any religion, and that is delivered by the professionals with expertise in mental health and mental illness. specifically the American Psychiatric Association and the American Psychological Association.

you have completely ignored it.

i know, i have read some of the old threads. i find it partcularly galling when he asks for something, ignores it when it is given, and then makes the same inane comments again. i guess thats garysher.

The APA is well known for coming up with "rulings" that are politically motivated and highly contentious.

on this issue, they agree with other professional psychiatric and psychological organisations (RANZCP for example, the american psychological association, the AMA). perhaps they are all wrong.....

The fact is that there is no consensus among psychology professionals about the homosexual dysfunction.

there is almost universal consensus that it is not any form of mental illness. i say almost because i know there are a few psychologists and shrinks who still say it is. but they are a tiny minority.

certainly the majority are not always right, nor the minority always wrong. but it is good to have most of the educated, professional, informed experts agree with me on this issue.

there are still a minority of people who think the earth is flat.

Infact, it doesn't take an expert to see that homosexuality is dysfunctional and an abnormality, because it diverts from the purpose of the sex drive.

in fact, the experts say it is not dysfunctional or abnormal. and the biology and psychology of sex is much more complicated than you seem to think.

People know this instinctively, regardless of attempts to persuade us differently. You don't need a meteorologist to tell you when it's raining.

but it is best to ask a meteorologist to explain to you why it is raining. lay people might say things like "the sky is abnormal today" or "the clouds are dysfunctional".

As for your sense of denial about the multitudes of cured homosexuals, that is something you may want to see a psychologist about.

But in regards to homosexuality, that hasn't been done yet. The "why" is still a big question mark. It just remains another sexual abnormality that effects men more than women, seems to be innate, and has no real purpose. Which also describes pedo and zoo, other sexually deviant urges that we don't hear as much complaint about if I call them freaks. It just happens that homosexuals happen to have a malfunction that still points them to other humans that have the same malfunction. Instead of children and animals.

No one really ignores Gary. If I had a dollar for every time someone had come here and said they ignored Gary and I, I could rebuild the WTC, pay off the Extremists, and finance research into technology that would free us from dependence on foreign soil. All that "we have Gary and FX on ignore" crap is utter BS.
