What difference does it make if being gay is natural, whatever that means?

Humans do lots of things that are unnatural (wear glasses, live in houses, drive cars, color their hair, wear polyester), and no one thinks a thing of it.

The natural vs unnatural argument is just a convenient distraction for some people to hide their intolerance. Unfortunately, a lot of people fall for the distraction.
How condescending of Cyn to decide what arguments we are forbidden to use, in a desperate effort to perpetuate the falsehood that it's ok to be gay.

At no point did I forbid anyone to say anything.
I've just discredited the argument. Feel free to go on using it if you like.

If you could rebut my argument, you would.
Instead, you turn to a personal attack.
Code for "I have nothing to say! I give up! You win!"

Thanks, gary.
I graciously accept your surrender.

How did you discredit the argument?

You merely said "The natural vs unnatural argument is just a convenient distraction for some people to hide their intolerance."

It isn't an argument, it's a fact.

Having sex with someone of the same sex is about as natural as breathing through your ears.

I couldn't agree more!
I'm glad you are finally starting to see sense on this issue.

Has anyone ever considered the concept that humans are part of nature too? If you are to accept that line of reasoning, it seems rather silly to compare the sexual habits of humans to, say, fruit flies, that only mate as a means of continuing their species.

Exactly my point, PN. Humans are part of nature. Therefore, the argument about what humans do being natural or unnatural is pointless. Anything a human does with her body is "natural" because the human body is "natural."

As I said before, humans do plenty of things that are unnatural. For example, it's natural for a person's eyesight to get worse as she gets older. It's unnatural to wear corrective lenses. Where is the outcry from the Association For Natural Eyesight?

With a topic like homosexuality, the "not natural" argument is just a dodge from the real issue: whether or not you approve of or accept the behavior.

Many bigots would rather hide from their bigotry, by saying "homosexuality is unnatural" rather than be honest and unembarrassed about their bigotry, saying what they really feel: "I find homosexuality icky."

After your partisan support for children who skip school to support ONLY those children who are bullied for being "gay - you are the last one to accuse others of bigotry.

As for the naturalness of homosexuality, yet again the homosexuals have to parse the meaning of words to try and support their failing case.

1. existing in or derived from nature; not made, caused by, or processed by humankind.
versus
2. in accordance with nature; normal or to be expected
AskOxford: natural

Like homosexuals, Siamese twins occur in nature but are not in accordance with nature.

Actually, I quite vocally opposed those students who broke school rules when they skipped out of class on National Day of Silence. I'd appreciate it if you would stop lying about this.

As for the naturalness of homosexuality, yet again, you hide your bigotry behind an utterly discredited non-argument.

Your e-mail pal FX has the courage to be honest about his personal dislike of homosexuality. Why are you such a coward about confessing your bigotry? Are you ashamed of it?
