How convenient.
I have morals, but my morals are a lot different to yours.
I think it's wonderful that so many homosexuals/supporters are Athiests, this simply shows there is a big problem with religion.
The reason why people break away from the beliefs of their church - and this is said for heterosexuals as well as homosexuals - is because they do not believe people should be condemned for something they believe is out of their control.
As an Athiest, I am much more accepting of homosexuality and womens rights, and many other things. Religion is in the dark about many things. It's about time the Church came into the 21st century.

well said. i find it quite offensive when people say the only way to be moral is to be christian. some of the most narrow minded, heartless and morally bankrupt people can be found in religion.

the church is coming around though. there are increasing numbers of gay friendly churches, gay priests in some denominations and even some churches that will celebrate gay unions.

religion moves slowly. there are plenty of old guard catholics who still oppose women having any position of authority in their church. they had better be careful, or they might find in a few more years that the rest of the world has moved on and completely forgotten about them.

You may try to create the illusion that my opinions are outdated and in a minority.

But the truth is far from that.

I bet that formula works for pedophiles and bestialists too.

not that this has ever been relevant. as you well know. but once you accept the complete lack of any connection between homosexuality and bestiality, you know its over.

(hint: it's already over)
The connection between homosexuality and bestiality, or any other form of sexual deviance, is perfectly clear.

And has been pointed out by such great minds as Justice Antonin Scalia.

However, some people such as yourself prefer to live in a state of denial.

As an atheist you have no moral foundation of any sort.

No wonder you don't see a problem with homosexuality.

And no wonder you take the homosexual's route of blaming the problem on everyone else instead of yourself.

i never said they were in the minority, ignorance is well represented in this culture. but they are certainly outdated. you quote a book you admit is 2000 years old and is full of laws like you cannot wear clothes made of mixed cloth and have to sacrifice turtledoves to fix your rash. of course its out of date.

The connection between homosexuality and bestiality, or any other form of sexual deviance, is perfectly clear.

does anyone else get the feeling we have been down this road before?

"Mere factual innocence is no reason not to carry out a death sentence properly reached"

sorry to drag up the original post, but it is an interesting point.

the idea of hating the sin, loving the sinner has been thrown around in discussions about sex, abortion, any kind of crime, even any kind of bad behaviour. it is a nice sounding, warm and fuzzy sentiment.

one problem i have is why hate homosexuality in the first place? sure, you can love the homosexuals themselves, but why do you even have a problem with what they do? why hate it? there are probably lots of hetersexual behaviours that loving straight couples do that you don't do, but you would not hate them for it.

the other problem is that homophobia (however it is defined or used) tends to become directed against the person even if it was not the original intent. the best approach, most people have recognised, is to begin to examine the irrationality of opposing homosexuality in the first place.
What if you hate the hater that hates the hater who is black and gay?

pull a thread back on topic?!?! how dare you!

I used to work for a guy that was(is) gay. I fucking hated him! Not because he was gay, but because he was(is) a fucking scumbag asshole. (just so happens he was gay) he would still be a fucking scumbag asshole even if he wasn't gay and I would still hate him. Turns out he was a thieving scumbag fucking asshole.
