So your teaching career was entirely motivated by your retirement package? Once you achieved that you immediately retired?

And now you live off the hard-pressed taxpayers, sew quilts and winge on the internet all day?

Where's the driving ambition that made America great?

It varies a lot depending on where you live, just like the US system. But I think most European and Asian countries regularly score higher than the US in educational achievement.

And yes we enjoy beating up chubby kids who are useless at sports too.

Would you please comment on my previous post regarding bullying? My real interest is whether you regard bullying gay kids in the same light as bullying kids for other reasons (such as sucking at sports).
It is all equally reprehensible. But didn't you get called gay or fag or some such because you sucked at sports? My nephew does and, so far as I know, he is straight.

In fact most kids who are bullied and called gay, etc. are actually heterosexual, something like 80%. They will benefit from an environment that discourages bullying gay kids just as much as the actual gay kids will.
Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this.

So why not stage a protest about everyone who is bullied, not just gay, or ostensibly gay children?

I think bullying is all part of life unless it is really extreme or brutal.

Playground taunting is a part of life for many kids and they just have to learn how to stand up for themselves and deal with it.

Life can't always be perfectly placid and politically correct.

It's 'common sense' to teach a child to judge another person on their sexuality? How about putting aside personal opinion and actually getting to know that person first before you pass such judgement?
