You are remembering correctly. She learned about the Day of Silence in school, and came home to tell us about it, and her plans to participate in it, along with more than half of the students in her class. I could not be more proud.
Hear, hear. Your daughter has to be an extremely bright young lady, Forester. You are a great mom to her. We are proud of both of you, and your wife, too.

OK, it's about abuse of gay students and not gay marriage. So? The concept is the same. The people that are against gay rights are the ones who wish to cause you trouble - that's why you should care. Why do deliberate things that will draw attention to you [by them]? It won't accomplish anything that's in your (or gay people's) best interests. That was my point.

Like the Civil Rights Movement accomplished nothing in the best interest of Black people?

Don't you care about all the other kids who are bullied for whatever reason?

Why are you bigoted towards them?

Yes she did by supporting this whimsical "National Day of Silence" which is:

"when students around the country will take a vow of silence to draw attention to anti-GLBT harassment, discrimination, and name-calling in our nation’s schools"

Why aren't they taking a vow of silence to draw attention to kids who are bullied for being black, fat, tall, small or have British accents?

Don't they care?

The difference is that no black person has ever gotten kicked out of his house by his mother for being black. Not many black people can "hide" being black. And black people were brought to this country which was already founded on questionable circumstances.
Gay people are worldwide thought of as an aberration. Heck as I mentioned, even some parents think their kids are [insert non-derogatory adjective] because they are gay. Civil rights and "gay rights" are nowhere near the same.

Why do they keep trying to pull those same old stunts and then accuse others of circular arguments!

I don't know exactly how people protest this observance ... do they actually state that they're in favor of bashing gay and lesbian students?

There's no other way to interpret the "protest" of a day to bring awareness of gay bashing.
