I'd feel you were quite silly and misguided, since no one is bullied for being heterosexual.

As I said previously,

Even those that misguidedly skipped school or created anti-gay graffiti in protest added to the publicity and public awareness that we were seeking on this issue.

And THAT is a positive response.

When the goal is simply to raise public awareness of an issue, there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Really?

So if these "protesters" decided to bully fat kids in order to raise awareness of this misguided "day of silence" you would consider that entirely appropriate, because in doing so they have raised public awareness?

Apparently delusion and denial are still characteristics of the homosexual condition.

The day of silence isn't just about protecting gay kids. I work at a high school, and straight kids are harassed just because other kids THINK they're gay.

Apparently you don't consider their plight deserves any kind of protest.

This is heterophobic bigotry plain and simple

You really are off the deep end like everyone says. Let's keep this within the realm of reality, shall we? Using unrealistic (and ridiculous in this case) examples to refute realistic ones is an error of logic.

Keep it real, man. Keep it real.

Of course not, gary.

Apparently, making up straw man arguments and then deluding yourself into thinking your opponent used them is still a characteristic of your lazy debating technique.

But I do want to say thank you for keeping my thread going, and continuing to raise awareness for this important issue.

Yes, I am well aware. It's why I started this thread.

Actually, I consider their plight worthy of an organized protest, called Day of Silence. That's why I started this thread.

Perhaps you should address that comment to your colleague when she wrote:

"When the goal is simply to raise public awareness of an issue, there is no such thing as bad publicity."

Or are you into selective reality?

Man?

My pleasure.

It's no effort to demonstrate that this abortive "Day of silence" was misguided and bigoted.
