Never underestimate the power of a noisy over-emotional group of people in any number. Especially when politicians will do anything for a vote.

Scalia called it though.

Wow! I didn't expect this topic to be so popular, to be honest!

Now, after reading through everyones thoughts and opinions, I am still yet to hear a LEGAL reason as to why we shouldn't allow gay marriage.

Why hasn't one been provided - because there ISN'T one. Simple as that.

But "normal" has nothing to do with population of something or anything like that. I look at humans as having 2 arms and 2 legs one head. Any human that deviates from that is abnormal. There is no amount of BS you can spew that will convince me otherwise.

There is no natural reason for a human to "be" gay.
First of all, heterosexuals practice sodomy also - should we deny them the right to marry? Oh, wait, it's okay, just as long as they're straight.

Second, your idea of normal is simply personal opinion. It isn't a legal arguement, which is what I am looking for.

Thirdly, it is natural to be gay if there's a gay gene, which I am fairly confident there is. Also, just because the majority of people in this world happen to be straight, doesn't mean that homosexuals should be denied equal rights.

How would you, as a straight person, feel if you were treated differently than everyone else? Do you think you'd just sit back accept it, or would you jump up and demand to be treated fairly, and equally?

Gary, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is for individuals. Individuals get married to each other. Duh. What forrester said after my post is totally correct. The right uses this issue as a way to inflame the people that they are really tricking into voting for their candidates with values issues, while they then screw them out of their financial security. They should be ashamed of their willingness to abuse the teacings of Jesus, for political gains and power grabs. There are your false prophets right there.

Yeah, people who swing their fists in the air, make stupid chants, and demand their rights should be taken aside and have the shit beat out of them.

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness must be done without sponging off the government and bitching over what you don't have.

It's okay in my book to sponge off the government for a short time if one has had unforeseen hardships. After all, people who work for years have paid into the sytem for that very security. And gays wanting to marry aren't sponging off the government.
As far as the bitching goes, that's okay too, if your trying to stand up for your rights.

You are correct in that gays marrying have nothing to do with sponging off the government. You know how we tend to get a bit off topic around here.

If you feel the need to bitch, it shows you are a spineless pussy who doesn't know how to take care of him/herself. If you are a working American fallen on hard times, there is unemployment and social security to help you.

If you feel the need to "stand up for your rights", know that nobody will give a shit and you will have to resort to plan A which is taking care of yourself.

Gays should be allowed to marry as long as they don't have wedding cakes with two grooms or two brides on it. It is silly and it bothers me.
