And - did anybody else notice that fxashun's latest link had nothing to do with the issue whatsoever - other than further exhibiting his fascination and obsession with fringe gay MALE sexual activity?
Actually what anybody reading this should notice is that the link addressed Tristan's comment...
How boring straight people's sex lives must be if the only sexual activity for them engages in penetration.

In that link it talked about fisting and group sex. Other alternative forms of sexual exploration practiced by THESE gay men.

I wouldn't expect that level of reading comprehension from people that didn't understand OD's original point.

The bottom line is that if you are engaging in ANY sexual activity with a monogamous partner, there is next to zero chance of acquiring an std of any kind...whether gay or straight.
But anal sex is still riskier for anal cancer.

Not an STD, but just as bad.

We found that infection with HPV is necessary in most if not all cases of anal cancer, as close to 90 percent of the tumors studied were positive for the virus," said Daling, a pioneer in studying the link between HPV and anogenital-cancer risk.
I know that they're also trying out an HPV vaccination for women, as it's the leading cause of uterine cancer.

So - it has far far far less to do with anal sex, than with previous infection of HPV

- but don't let the facts get in the way of your obsession with gay MALE sex

There you go again....
Other risk factors associated with increased anal-cancer risk included gay or bisexual orientation among men, a high number of lifetime sexual partners and a history of receptive anal sex. The study also suggested that the overall increase in anal cancer rates might be partially attributable to an increase in the average number of lifetime sexual partners and an increase in the number of people engaging in anal sex, particularly among women.

You see the activity is risky. And as a percentage of population, gay men still participate in that activity at a higher rate than any segment of the population. In fact male receptive anal sex in pretty much impossible heterosexually. And if anal sex is a risk factor, a hetero male is about as immune from it as a lesbian is from catching AIDS. Next attempt at obfuscation?

once again, you're ignoring the need for the HPV virus to be present...as YOUR link clearly states in the quote I posted

but, since you can't discuss this honestly, I'm through trying to do so

I'll just point and laugh at you

saying that there is a risk of getting anal cancer from having anal sex is like saying there is a risk of getting your arm torn off by a subway if you go into the subway

Fisting and rimming aren't necessarily fringe for "gay males". According to a study by a Dr. Harold Jaffe, a researcher to the CDC, 33 to 52% of homosexual males fist and up to 75% engage in [the kind of salad that has no lettuce]. Fringe? I think not.

Keep laughing.

Uh, yeah, you actually did say that. I quote:

"The article discusses sexual practices mandated by homosexuality but are optional for hetero couples."

So "sexual practices mandated by homosexuality" and "homosexuality mandating sexual practices" have two different meanings now? What's next, pulling a Clinton and debating the meaning of the word "is"?

I've known quite alot of gay people, and I don't recall any of them being into either fisting or rimming.

Sexual practices being the active part. An asexual homosexual couple would be okay. But just as I said...
And homosexual sexual relations, at least the male variant, require some kind of alternative sexual techniques.
Keep trying.

Maybe you ought to get out more, or they just didn't invite you into that part of their bedrooms. I know I don't know any hetero couples that talk about having sex at all. But that doesn't mean they don't have any. It ain't like we sit around talking about how tight our wives vaginas are or if she gives good head or swallows.
