I cannot cite Gary ever concluding that it is right to prohibit gays from marrying simply because they are not a majority. His reasoning has been clear and detailed and repeated over and over...he holds the principles that gay marriage is a detriment to society, a moral erosion of a people and a precedent that would confuse and injure youth in their formative years. Those posts I can find and his citations and explanations have been anything but circular.

Simply because you have not liked his stance does not mean he has not stated it clearly and with factual and/or reasonable dissertations.

Of course I know what the words I use mean. Now consider this...principles are unique to each of us.

And precedence? Are you telling me Tristan that you do not want to establish a precedence of marriage for gay folk?

America has morally declined so much that it is too easy to see gay marriage as part of that moral decline. If America would raise the bar in other areas of moral establishment principles and then Gay Marriage was introduced and made legal, it may be different. But at this time, it is on the heels of other decadent permissive acts in our culture.

Try introducing this as a right and lawful institution for gay people during a time in our society when there were high moral standards being embraced and exampled like they were in another time in our history.

That's a new one, OhDear. Gay marriage is wrong because SOME people think America is in moral decline and it wouldn't be wrong if that perception didn't exist. I don't think I've ever seen someone use absolute morality ("America is in moral decline") and relative morality ("Gay marriage would be okay if people weren't suspicious of moral decline") intermixed in such a fashion before.

I fail how to see how more people being married is a decline in values.

A lesbian friend of mine actually said that. I was surprised that she was not in favor of gay marriages. And that was her explanation. I think it seems to her that society had to decay to accept gayness.
