More armchair psychology...so Tristan, how come you never called my language art skills into question all those months ago when I wrote from a different viewpoint regarding gay issues?

Has my grammar really diminished or what has really happened?

You missed the point, OhDear.

fx was saying, "two fathers is against anything human. There is no such thing in nature. Anywhere." And I was pointing out that even though a mother and father is his ideal, it is not the only human variation that exists in society today. Having a mother and father is great, but people do grow up with any assortment of variations on the theme of parental figures. It doesn't matter whether it's okay or not, it is a reality. And these children should not be devalued or thought less of simply because they don't have your ideal of a mother and father. If anything, we should do what we can to elevate their dignity and worth. Allowing the children of same-sex couples to marry is one way of doing just that.

Deekers, I see what you are saying too. And I do want for children, really for all people to have a right sense of self-worth and dignity. Especially children.

But it is humanly impossible to have a child without the genesis of sex between a man and a woman, i.e. a father and a mother.
What happens to that union thereafter is a tragedy if they do not stay together and provide for the child together in a nurturing environment of security and love, both for each other and for the child. THAT is the ideal and consistent with the only potential anatomically that makes a baby... a man (father) and a woman (mother)...

I guess that when you wrote from a more civilized and compassionate point of view, it wasn't necessary for you to try to use words that you dont understand to make points that are meaningless.

But, I don't know why your vocabulary skills (as well as your sense of fair play and justice) have denigrated so.

Why do you think it has?

So...fair play and justice, civilized and compassionate are equated with agreement with you?

I truly would take to heart if you could point out a post I have made that is uncivilized.

As to my vocabulary skills going downhill...hmmm. I don't notice that. But truth be told, sometimes I do get stuck where I cannot think of a word. Like the other day, I was trying for the longest and most frustrating amount of time to remember the bird called Bird of Paradise. I wanted to look him up on youtube for how cute the male bird is when he woos the female bird. And I had to give up. Then later that day I was trying to remember the word treadmill. And could not think of it, but that is when Bird of Paradise came to mind! That happens to me. I bet that happens to everybody sometimes.

perhaps

but, if it happened to me, I don't think I'd just say 'oh, well, what the hell' and write it out on a message board, pretending that my words made some kind of sense.

hardly

what is right, fair and just (civilized) is what is right, fair and just.

Now, admittedly, usually I'm on the side of what is fair and just - and you have suddenly decided that becoming some baiting troll is cute and clever - but agreeing with ME is not the issue.

Even those who oppose equality for gays usually say something witty like "sometimes life isn't fair" ... to pretend otherwise is absurd.

If you have decided that what is wrong, unfair, and unjust is dandy with you, so be it.

But DON'T pretend that it has anything to do with agreeing with me.

What you think is right and fair and just is to give gay people equal rights. And yet, you are also in effect negating the value of women in your quest to be a "family of two fathers" for then you have to turn to women to be nothing more than baby-making incubators to serve your own delusion that another man "completes" you.

I am all for fair, but using the opposite sex to produce a child for you to raise so you can play house is anything but fair.
