I messed up my analysis of this case.
After reading the article on this lawsuit, my wife pointed out to me just how much I screwed up my comments on this case.

She pointed out:

(1) What kind of "preacher" tells a crowd to go out, buy a gun, a shoot gays? If he truly believes that being gay is a sin, then he would, if sincere, offer to pastor gays to turn them from a life of sin. Threatening to kill gays sounds like something from Somalia.

(2) The preacher was trying to be clever times two with his wording. I read it to clearly mean he thought gays needed to be killed. My wife thought Donohoo was trying to send out a message to some nut, thinking maybe the nut would take action based on what he said. Then, Donohoo could say "I'm not responsible." Scary.

(3) I said that we have the right to hate in this country. True, but this statement borders on a call to action which would not be protected.

(4) If a gay activist had made the exact same statement about Christians, the Christian community would have been in an uproar.

Where's the Christian love?
