It's not just Americans. It most of the planet. Almost half of the planet has sodomy laws and only about 10% allow any recognition of homosexual unions. "Your" friends may not have a problem with "you", but any member of the FLDS could say the same for their religion too since they deal in a closed society.

Homosexuality is legal almost everywhere on the planet save human rights cesspools of the third world variety...


It's not a gender argument. It's a union argument. And there is no reason for a homosexual union to be called a marriage. It is NOT a marriage. Just like incest, pedophila, and zoophilia, the union is the result of a hormonal mistake somewhere. Your "lawful and consenting" validates the slippery slope that the repeal of the sodomy laws continued. Calling a homosexual union a marriage is an affront to human intelligence.

I've never said it was immoral. I don't care what you do, just don't call it a marriage. Because it's not. And it's not unconstitutional since "gay" isn't recognized as a separate type of person. If you are "equal" the established rules would work without modification. And changing "man and wife" to "any two yahoos" is a significant change considering the importance of man and woman to life on this planet. Especially when you consider the null and void nature of homosexuality.

Well I guess I'm about average for the world since until last decade, there was no such thing as "gay marriage". And even in the countries that allow it, it was foisted on them, not something the populace voted on.

....and miracle of miracles, those republics did not fall...


I merely advocate that a same sex union is not a "marriage". I couldn't care less about homosexuality otherwise. If that makes me a "bigot", so be it.
