The abortion debate is centered on whether or not you believe a fetus is a "person" or not. No "person", no "murder". The gay marriage debate is centered on whether you think marriage is a right that should be granted to everyone (the SANE and legal definition of everyone, not the crazy gary and fx one), and that has already been decided by the SC of CA. So why should they then allow the people to decide what they have already made a clear decision on? Isn't that their purpose? If we let everyone not happy with a SC decision to take a petition around to get a ballot measure to overturn it, our legal system would be in even more shambles than it is now.

In this case we have homosexuality once again creating disorder where there should be none. Calling a homosexual union a "marriage" is the shambles.

What else is a fetus other than a person? It's as ignorant to pretend that a fetus is NOT a person as it is to pretend that any union other than man and woman is a marriage. It requires an insane suspension of common sense and intelligence.

Opinions aside, the law is the question here. Under Row vs. Wade, the LAW is that a fetus is not a person. Just as in CA, the LAW is now that gays have the same right to marriage as straights.

The California Supreme Court decision was based on the Calif. Constitution. If the state Constitution is amended, then the Supreme Court does not have the power to declare the amendment illegal unless it violates the U.S. Constitution.

I bet every hate group out there wished they could amend their state Constitution to suit their particular brand of bigotry. It's only a shame that one group has gotten so far with it.

You mean the hateful homosexual group that coaxed four judges into redefining marriage against the will of the people??

Looks like the homosexuals are terrified of letting We The People have their say - for the second time !

The only people trying to "redefine marriage" are the people trying to add "one man and one woman" to the perfectly good and non-discriminating already existing definition.
